Lamar Odom has been making huge improvements since his hospitalization after being found unconscious at a Nevada brothel less than a week ago. On Friday morning, the former NBA player's heart function improved significantly and later in the day, he opened his eyes and was even able to talk, saying "Hey, Baby" to Khloe Kardashian, who has not left his side since he was admitted on October 13.
Over the weekend, there was even more good news for Lamar, who was able to sit in a chair (with assistance) and started communicating with hand signals, according to E! News. The site is also reporting that Lamar is breathing on his own (although he is still wearing an oxygen mask, he has been taken off of the ventilator) and he passed a swallow test, which is a promising sign for his neurological function.
The 35-year-old obviously still has a long road ahead of him in terms of recovery, and it is not yet determined what amount of damage to his body from the incident will be permanent. TMZ reports that Lamar will have physical, speech and other therapists working with him "for the foreseeable future" and that Khloe will be by his side the entire way.
Khloe has been making many of Lamar's medical decisions, as the pair were still legally married when Lamar's medical emergency occurred and will be for at least another 2 months until a judge signs off on their divorce papers.
No word yet on whether or not Khloe has changed her mind on that front, or how this whole situation will affect her current relationship with James Harden.

The waiver warns guests that they will experience things that could be triggering for some people, and they're not kidding: while walking through the house, we witnessed scenes depicting bulimia, gun violence, and the aftermath of a sexual assault. The very first scene is particularly difficult to stomach, as it involves a depiction of a school shooting. If any of those things make you extremely uncomfortable, I would suggest skipping the 17th Door.
So was the 17th Door worth the hype? Absolutely - if you can handle it. Though you won't be chased around by masked dudes with chainsaws (something I personally appreciated) the 17th Door will definitely mess with your mind. If you feel comfortable exploring some disturbing themes and don't consider cockroaches a deal breaker, then the 17th Door is a necessary part of a truly scary Halloween season.
