Any of us would be thrilled to land a Maxim magazine cover - or any magazine cover, for that matter. Well, maybe with the exception of a few, but any 'look how awesome this girl is' magazine cover would be a big win in our book.
That being the case, you would think Iggy Azalea was thrilled to land the Maxim Australia cover. After all, she's from Australia, so the shoutout is extra special.
The rapper MIGHT have been thrilled if she'd known about it or had participated in the cover shoot.
"Im going to publicly say something to the australian division of my record label right now because my message seems to be ignored privately," she tweeted on October 16. "Stop giving permission on my behalf for magazines to purchase images of me that have already been printed in major publications for covers."
"Australian label, i love you guys but you allowed my image to be sold to cosmo Aus when i told you i would prefer for that not to happen," she continued. "And now this morning i see you've allowed maxim australia to buy an image from a 2011 complex mag shoot and put it on the cover."
She also tweeted (and deleted) that she wasn't mad at Maxim. In fact, she thought it was "awesome," to be on the cover, but they deserved an accompanying photo shoot. She also said she would have loved to give an interview and do the shoot with them.
Sounds like it was all a big misunderstanding. Maxim Australia tweeted to the singer, explaining their side of the story and she was extremely humble about the whole thing.
At the end of the day, Iggy just wanted to give the magazine the interview and shoot they deserved for putting her on their cover.
Hopefully this means we will be seeing a NEW Iggy Maxim cover shoot sometime soon!
