Pretty much everyone loves them some Taylor Swift, but there are a few peeps in New Zealand who aren't down. The Waitakere Ranges Local Board just publicly accused Tay Tay of potentially harming an endangered bird's habitat while recently shooting a new music video there.
Bethells Beach, outside Auckland, is home to the rare dotterel and restricts vehicle use to preserve the bird's nesting sites. Taylor's film crew reportedly got the green light to shoot at Bethells but brought a small fleet of vans and vehicles with them. Cue the problemo.
"It's really disappointing that such a large number of vehicles would park all over the beach and drive all over the beach," Waitakere Ranges Local Board chairwoman Sandra Coney told Radio New Zealand.
Don't get all mad at Taylor, though. She wasn't personally responsible for those production logistics, according to the local production company in charge of the video shoot.
"We accept responsibility and apologize for this situation," Cherokee Films said in a statement to AFP. "Taylor Swift and her management team were in no way at fault and did not do anything that violated permits or ordinances."
As for the birds? The production company also stressed no dotterels or nests were harmed during the shoot and will also pay it forward to help ensure species preservation.
"In acknowledgement of the concern this has added to those in charge of protecting local Dotterel population Cherokee Films will make a donation to the breeding program as we support your concerns," the statement released to AFP announced.
There's no word on what song Taylor's new video is for. Rumors swirled that Tay was in New Zealand shooting a video last week when she ditched the American Music Awards.
If there's one style faux pas that I'm extremely guilty of, it's wearing a hair tie around my wrist. I'm fully aware that a hair tie is not jewelry and that it can take a could-be-cute outfit down a few pegs, but what can I say: I like the possibility of tossing my hair into a ponytail whenever the mood strikes. While I'm still all about that life, learning about the potential risks of having that security hair tie around my wrist has inspired me to find a new place to store my much-needed accessory.
According to a report by WGAL, a Kentucky woman named Audree Kopp had a very scary experience linked back to her hair tie. Audree was in the middle of moving when she noticed that the red bump on her wrist was getting larger, despite her antibiotic regime that was prescribed by her doctor. According to her doctor, Amit Gupta, the infection was caused by - you guessed it - her hair tie.
Dr. Gupta believes that bacteria got trapped underneath the tie, which led to an infection that caused the massive swelling. While this is very rare, it's definitely a possibility, especially considering that most hair ties fit pretty snugly around most wrists. If you're currently wearing a hair tie, take it off, and see if it leaves a red mark on your skin. If so, it's a surefire sign that it's way too tight and should be stashed elsewhere.Hair ties are definitely the best way to change up your look in a pinch, but an icky infection is so not worth it. Next time you go out, try stashing your hair tie in your pocket or your purse - it may save you a whole lotta pain down the road.
One of our fave annual holiday traditions, iHeart Radio's Jingle Ball Tour, is quickly approaching and this year's lineup is more lit than a Christmas tree. If we're not there, we might not make it to New Year's Eve.
The Jingle Ball Tour kicks off on Dec. 1 in Dallas, Texas. It then makes its way to San Francisco, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, Boston, New York, Washington, D.C., Chicago, Miami and Tampa Bay.
Check out seven reasons Jingle Ball will sleigh your life and have you saying "YAS, SANTA" this December.
1.This may be our last chance to see One Direction live for a very long timeHarry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne are going on a two-year One Direction hiatus, which is basically an eternity. What do the next two years even hold? A Harry solo career? We can't even begin to think about it, yet. For now, we just want to experience happy holiday feels with the boys and enjoy Niall's glasses while we still have time. They're performing in Dallas and Los Angeles.
2. Every band of boys we care about will be there5 Seconds Of Summer and 1D are both performing at multiple Jingle Ball dates, so basically all the things we truly care about are coming together for one night of amazingness. Christmas magic is real.
3. Two words: Selena GomezOur true goddess Selena Gomez will take the stage to bless us and we. can't. wait. Selena has been slaying at life lately. If her killer performer of "Same Old Love" at the American Music Awards is any indication of what she'll bring to the Jingle Ball stage, consider us dead now.
4. Relive your Jonatic daysGet ready for all those Jonas Brothers memories to come rushing back. It might not be the same as getting the band back together, but both Nick Jonas and Joe Jonas' new band DNCE are performing at multiple Jingle Ball dates. SOS.
5. So many bae-worthy guysIf 1D, 5SOS and the JoBros aren't enough man candy for you, get ready, because there's even more. Shawn Mendes, Charlie Puth and Zedd will all be performing on the Jingle Ball Tour. These guys may make different styles of music, but they do all have one thing in common: they're totally bae. Charlie even showed off his make out skills on the AMAs with Meghan Trainor. It was kind of awk, but honestly, we didn't hate it.
6. Major #GirlPower GoalsFifth Harmony, aka the epitome of #girlpower, will take the Jingle Ball stage in New York and Chicago. Plus, one of our other girl power inspirations, Demi Lovato, will bring her confidence to the Jingle Ball stage in Dallas, San Francisco, Minneapolis, Boston, New York, Washington D.C., Miami and Tampa. YAS, QUEENS.
7. The Weeknd playing the hottest jams of 2015 liveThe Weeknd rocked the charts this year. Get your groove on to "Can't Feel My Face," "The Hills" and "Often" at Jingle Ball 2015. He'll be performing in Los Angeles, Boston, New York and Miami.

I'm the person in my friend group who always has a spare hair tie around their wrist, even though I'm aware that these hair bands are anything but fashionable. (Oh, and apparently, they also pose the threat of a serious infection if kept on too tight and too long. Ew.) Now, a new company has a solution for the hair ties that are ruining your outfits, and it's absolutely amazing. Instead of removing your hair tie, this new company wants you to incorporate it into some chic jewelry. Pretty genius, right?
Accessories company Maria Shireen has created a gorgeous line of bracelets specifically designed so that you can carry your hair tie wherever you go. Their Bittersweet Bracelet collection includes bangles that make the hair tie a part of the design - most people won't even notice that the hair tie wasn't a part of the bracelet in the first place. You simply clip in whatever elastic that you want, and presto: you have an ultra chic, ultra useful bracelet that will step up your look rather than ruin it.
The bracelets come in gold, rose gold, and silver, and range from $45 to $85. The company also makes plastic versions of the bracelet, which are $20. Though they are part of the "kids" collection, I think these bracelets would be perfect for rocking during a gym workout or on a run:We don't have to give up having a hair tie at our disposal, but it's nice to know that their are alternatives to piling them directly on our wrists. I'm always about making necessity fashionable and these bracelets totally win at that.
If you freaked out over the pho burrito and still dream about getting your hand on a cronut, then this latest food combo trend is for you. According to Distractify, a brand-new dessert combination is taking over dinner tables everywhere, and it sounds like the perfect thing to satisfy your sweet tooth. Introducing the piecaken, a combination of pie and cake guaranteed to make your mouth water.
Imagine slicing into a chocolate cake, only to realize that there's an entire pecan pie inside of it - if that makes you happy, then you should get on the piecaken game ASAP. That's because the piecaken is a pie that is virtually baked inside of a cake. Instead of a cream filling or an extra layer of frosting, there's an entire freakin' other dessert inside of your piecaken: it's "cake-ception," if you will. Check out these pics of the delish treat and see for yourself:
The piecaken can work with a number of food combinations. I personally think that black forest cake and cherry pie would go together perfectly, as would strawberry cake with a blueberry pie center. This is the dessert we all deserve, so start making your piecakens ASAP.
My friend and colleague @kminear suggested I request this for my upcoming 30th birthday. I like where her head's at. It's a pie inside a cake that goes by the monicker "Piecaken." If anyone gets the chance to consume this wondrous creation they must shout the phrase "release the Piecaken" before consumption: https://www.yahoo.com/makers/piecaken-official-dessert-thanksgiving-005508966/photo-and-this-is-the-piecaken-1448419490804.html. #piecaken #fatkidfantasies
We can always count on Sia's music to leave us feeling inspired and energized, and her newest song "One Million Bullets" is the latest addition to our official "Motivation" playlist. The follow-up to "Alive" and "Bird Set Free," the third single off This is Acting finds the singer vowing to lay it all on the line for that special someone - even if it means taking a barrage of bullets.
She sings, "If you were a poet/And I was a faultless muse/If you were the hero/Yeah, I'd take a bullet for you."
While "One Million Bullets" takes a different approach than the redemptive theme of its This is Acting predecessors, Sia's latest ballad is still giving us so much life and has us seriously anticipating which creative approach she will take with the video. For instance, which wig will she go with? Will "Bullets" feature the expert choreography of Maddie Ziegler or Sia's new mini-muse, 9-year-old martial artist Mahiro Takano?
If it's as kick-ass as the visuals for "Alive," (or any of Sia's other videos), then we already know we're in for more epic slayage.
Until Sia drops her new album on Jan. 29, we're more than happy to keep these three amazing singles in regular playlist rotation.
Chris Hemsworth may be best known for his role as crime-fighting Norse God Thor, but his title now needs to extend to Best Son Ever. According to his brother Liam, this hot actor has a heart of gold, and he proved that by helping out his parents in a major way. According to Liam, Chris paid off his parents' debts, and the story should give you all of the feels.
Liam spoke to the Independent about how his family helped cultivate a sense of hard work in both actors, which helped the brothers get to where they are today. To thank their father for helping them get to their level of success, Liam told the newspaper that Chris decided to pay off his father's debts. Chris simply told his dad to check his bank account, which showed that all of his debts were erased. As Liam told the newspaper:
If this doesn't make you love the Hemsworth brothers even more, I don't know what will. Chris' gift to his parents is proof that no matter how big of a star you are, you should never forget where you come from. As for Liam, I'm sure he'll find a way to help out his parents in a major way: clearly his older brother taught him well.
[My father] called my brother Chris back and said: 'I don't know how to feel. Since I left home I have had debts and I thought I'd be paying them off until I died and have this weight hanging over me, and now to have them completely cleared.' They are so happy now and able to spend more time with us, I would love to be able to do something for my parents like that.
We're totally gonna let Kelly Clarkson finish, but she just posted the most coo-worthy photo of all time.
Recently the singer's daughter River Rose stole our hearts with her adorable cameo in the video for "Piece by Piece," and on Thursday, Kelly shared a photo on Instagram that shows her sweet baby girl in full-fledged zen mode. Seriously - little Rose is wearing that old familiar post-Thanksgiving meal expression and it's the cutest thing ever.
"I'm so thankful for my amazing family & friends!!" she captioned the photo. "Especially this little nugget:) River can't be bothered right now. She's meditating. #sheistotallythinkingaboutfood. HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYBODY!! :)"
Gah, Kelly! We can't even handle all the cuteness. We have to get a grip though because we already know when your baby boy comes along, your social media will be drowning in extreme baby adorableness.
Did anyone else overdo it on Thanksgiving? Have more than a second helping of the holiday meal? You're not alone. Chrissy Teigen and John Legend looked a little different after they got their grub on Thursday, and the mom-to-be had the pic to prove it.
"We did it. @jenatkinlikethediet @mrmikerosenthal @johnlegend," Chrissy captioned the hilarious collage, which showed her, John and their guests, celebrity hairstylist Jen Atkin, photographer Mike Rosenthal and their bulldog looking normal before dinner and more than plump afterwards thanks to a "fat" photo booth app (even the dog was a lot chubbier).
Before their feast began Thursday, Chrissy posted several pics of the food she was whipping up, and it definitely made our mouths water.
In an Instavideo, Chrissy showed off her cheesy zucchini lasagna cooking in the oven, captioning a shot of the finished product, "She doesn't photograph well but my zucchini lasagna is THE TITS @johnlegend can I get an amen."
Then she posted another video of herself prepping one of their turkeys and stuffing it. "Roasting a turkey just for gravy!," she captioned the video. "The only downside to deep frying one is having no juices and crispy bits for gravy but oh well, two turkeys plus the experience of shoving herb garlic butter into every nook possible makes it all worth it." Yum!
Then, it was on to her desserts. "Sweet potato streusel pies! @adeenasussman your easy, buttery crust recipe is a godsend!! Even I cannot eff it up! Link in bio, click on thanksgiving special!" Our girl is giving cooking goals.
Anyone else drooling?
In spite of reports that Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani were planning to spend Thanksgiving together, the duo never took that step.
The rocker spent the holiday with her three kids - Kingston, Zuma and Apollo - instead, and took them to Disneyland the day after the holiday. "#happythanksgiving #soblessed #grateful," she captioned a sweet snap of 9-year-old Zuma giving her a kiss.
Although Blake wasn't there to enjoy the amusement park with them, Gwen was spotted Face Timing with her new beau as she made her way through it, according to Just Jared. It's not clear where the country crooner spent Thanksgiving, but, it looks like he spent it with friends. Blake posted a shot Friday on Twitter of himself and a couple of friends dressed in coats and hats and toasting their beverages. "Life is so crazy... And exactly right," he captioned it.
The Voice coach also made time to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving (including the haters)....

Whether we're at work tapping away on our computers, or creating a fabulous new inspiration board on Pinterest, or texting our pals on our cellphones - technology plays a huge role in our day-to-day lives. We've evolved into a society that relies heavily on digital...everything. Think about it: we use our phones to keep in touch with the people in our lives, wake us up in the morning, organize our calendars and even pay for our coffees. But do you ever think about the folks that started it all? And where they are, all these years later?
Naturally, your first thought was probably Steve Jobs. We all know that the godfather of technology (ya know, the co-founder of Apple) sadly passed away in 2011, and there's a movie about him in theaters right now. But what about the other tech founders? What are they doing now? What ever happened to the guy that invented LiveJournal? Or Napster? Or all those Facebook guys? The answers might surprise you. Check out the slideshow we put together so you can satisfy your thirst for nostalgic tech knowledge.
Kaley Cuoco is getting rid of all things Ryan Sweeting...including the big wedding date back tattoo dedicated to their love.
The Big Bang Theory star kicked off the Thanksgiving holiday with a trip to the tattoo parlor to cover it up, and had no problem sharing the experience with fans on Instagram Wednesday. "Thank you @nero_sct @studiocitytattoo for helping me right my wrongs.. note to self- do not mark your body with any future wedding dates #under30mistakes #donttakeyourselftooseriouslykids," she captioned a shot, which showed her making a pained face as the tattoo artist inked up a huge tattoo over it on her back.
When he was finished, she posted a shot of the body art, revealing a huge moth on her back. "@nero_sct the deep, meaningful, larger than life meaning behind this beautiful piece of ink, is..... It covered the last one," she joked again.
Kaley has been keeping her head up since filing for divorce from her ex-hubby in September after only 21 months of marriage. The duo tied the knot on Dec. 31, 2013 in a lavish fire and ice ceremony.
Since then, she's been spending time with friends, slaying horse-jumping competitions and gearing up for 30th birthday celebration. After celebrating Thanksgiving, Kaley posted a shot of herself palming a glass of wine with a festive 'Happy Birthday' hat on her head as she sat on a plane and looked out a window. "2 planes, 12 best friends, one 30th bday, destination unknown = priceless."
Ladies and gents, this is how you handle a break-up.
Ever stolen a spritz of bae's cologne, simply because it smelled just as amazing on your skin as it does on his? The new "genderless" perfume by Calvin Klein is your solution to sharing your scent with not only your BF, but with virtually anyone.
Calvin Klein created a unisex scent called CK One in the '90s, and people fell in love with the fresh, clean scent that neither smelled overly like a perfume or a cologne. Bottles of CK One ended up in the stockings of both men and women who freaked over the trendy scent - but Calvin Klein wasn't content.
Calvin Klein is calling out the gender binary with CK2: instead of it being for just men and women, Calvin Klein has made it clear that this perfume will be for anyone, no matter how they identify themselves. There are many people who don't fit into the traditional boxes when it comes to gender, and the fashion brand wants to make sure that those people feel just as comfortable wearing CK2. In fact, some of the models in the CK2 ads seem to bend gender boundaries: So what does CK2 smell like? According to SugarScape, the new fragrance smells like a mixture of wasabi, wet cobblestones, and woods blends - nothing overly flowery. While we'll have to wait until February to test out this perfume when it hits shelves, I am thrilled that Calvin Klein is making a scent for everyone.
If McDonald's french fries are your vice and you totally lost your cool when you heard that sweet potato fries are heading to Mickey D's, then you may just freak over this new fry news. According to Delish, McDonald's is getting in on a very ~fancy~ fry flavor, and it should impress any self-proclaimed foodie.
Truffle fries are the staple side of chic lunch spots, and now McDonald's is getting in on the trend. McDonald's is testing out truffle fries of its very own, but in true fast food fashion, these truffle fries are totally DIY. McDonald's will give you a packet of truffle flavoring, which you can then sprinkle on your potato sticks as you like.
I would be down to give this fry flavor a shot, but there is a pretty big caveat: the truffle flavoring is only available in Singapore, and may stay that way unless a big demand brings them overseas. So far, the response has been lackluster on social media:
McDonald's new truffle flavored shaker fries is the worst truffle fries I ever tasted- Lyndon Stannard Seah (@LyndonSss) November 28, 2015
Truffle fries from McDonald's fucking disgusting 😂- Iskandar Osman (@Eizziepeazie) November 28, 2015
Mcdonald's truffle fries suck- Darth Jry (@JerryEsmilla) November 28, 2015
Oh well, McDonald's: at least you can say that you tried... and we'll always have your mozzarella sticks to look forward to.

While Adele's heartbreak anthem "Hello" definitely has us all in our feelings, it isn't exactly the sort of song you bust a move to - unless you're having a super fan moment like Britney Spears.
On Saturday, the "Piece of Me" singer shared a video on Instagram to show Adele just how much she appreciates her hit song. In the short black-and-white clip, a T-shirt and sweats-clad Britney can be seen executing a fouette spin to the chorus of "Hello."
"I could dance to this song a MILLION times," Britney captioned the video. "Love you Adele!"
Too cute! We love Adele, too but we'll leave the choreography to Brit and the rest of the pros.
We're guessing the singer was one of the more than 3 million (and counting) people who bought Adele's new album 25. She's certainly not the only celeb going completely cray over Adele's first song in what feels like an eternity. Stars like John Stamos, Sam Smith and Katy Perry had shameless fan reactions to hearing "Hello," including Kate Hudson, who posted a teary-eyed photo of herself on Instagram.
We already know the British singer wants to collaborate with Drake on a "Hotline Bling" remix, but Brit's dancing tribute has us wondering whether she'd also be down to work with a fellow pop legend in the making.
It looks like Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid have confirmed that they're dating - taking things to the next level by being spotted in public holding hands.
Video of Zayn and Gigi leaving The Nice Guy restaurant landed online over the weekend, with the couple seen in coordinating outfits walking hand in hand.
So that happened.
For those keeping score, Zayn and Gigi were first seen together following the American Music Awards, then again at the LA hot spot earlier last week, and again on the weekend. They reportedly were together at the Bowery Hotel in New York City earlier in the month, too.
A source told ETOnline: "They recently just met and they're just having fun. Nothing more to it as of right now."
Given this new development though, could they be getting serious?
One of my all-time favorite directors is John Waters. Here's why: he was making disturbing and hilarious movies about self-loving, cross-dressing women obsessed with liquid eyeliner and cha-cha heels back in the 1970s. He made Divine a household word (at least, we like to think so). He showed us a quirky and often unsavory side of Baltimore with cult classic films such as Female Trouble and Pink Flamingos, and he was not afraid to have plus size women as his leading roles, which to this day is a rarity. Basically what I'm saying here is that I want John Waters to be my best friend. Since I'm not that cool, or live anywhere near Baltimore, I just have to settle for watching his movies and reading his books. And, of course, dancing/bopping around shamelessly to every song on Hairspray.
While Waters filmed the original version of film in 1988, Hairspray has become a household word; in 2002 it was adapted for the stage as a musical, and then remade as a feature film in 2007. Clearly, the story of a spunky teenage girl in 1960s Baltimore trying to eradicate racial segregation on a TV dance show is a timeless story that we'll be enjoying for years to come. But what has become of the original cast members? Obviously, some of them have just been busy being really famous (ahem, Christopher Walken, John Travolta, Zac Efron, Debbie Harry we're looking at you), but we have answers for a few of the folks that we don't see or hear almost immediately when we turn on our TV or radio.
Kylie Jenner's lips might be even more famous than the star herself, so it's no small wonder that there are hoards of girls waiting to get their hands on the key to celeb's perfect pout.
At noon EST on Cyber Monday, the Kylie Lip Kit will go on sale, as if the online shopping mayhem wasn't already crazy enough.
The kits include a biodegradable matte liquid lipstick and lip liner and come in three sweet-sounding colors: the nude Dolce K, nude-pink Candy K and dark-brown TrueBrown K.
Here's what they look like on the skin:
The neutral hues are ultra flattering, as you can tell by these pics of Kylie and BFF Jordyn Woods modeling the new shades.
There's no info on where to purchase yet, but we'll update as soon as we find out. UPDATE: You can snag the kits for $29 each here.
Thankfully, there's now a prettier, safer way for ladies to get King Kylie lips without resorting to the Kylie Jenner lip challenge!
Hailey Baldwin took to Twitter to clear up any rumors about her dating 5 Seconds Of Summer's Luke Hemmings - but then she deleted the tweet? Um.
We honestly had no idea there was that much buzz about Luke and Hailey being a thing, but the two were spotted together last month and it seems Hailey felt it necessary to clear the air.
Hailey took to Twitter to shut down the goss, writing (via Gossip Cop): "I never went on a date with Luke from 5 Seconds of Summer. So if everyone wants to chill, that'd be dope."
She later deleted the tweet, which left people wondering why. Hailey said what she needed to, we suppose, but why take it down?
We admit, the internet's hilarious #ThanksgivingClapbacks brought some humor to a family holiday that can sometimes be filled with, um, awkward conversations.
But despite these sassy memes, Thanksgiving is a time to express gratitude, so when we saw that #WhyINeedYouIn5Words was trending on Twitter over the weekend, we got a serious case of the feels.
In sweet, abbreviated sound bytes, Twitter users have been sharing why they value someone in their life. These Tweets will for sure melt your heart, when everything else is screaming "BUY BUY BUY" at you this Cyber Monday.
You make me feel alive. #WhyINeedYouIn5Words- Andrićeva (@slatkoblebetalo) November 30, 2015
