Our jaws totally dropped when we saw the video of this Korean student absolutely nailing a cover of Adele's song "Hello." We mean...she poured so much emotion into it that we were feeling goosebumps from head to toe.
Loads of people took notice, including Ellen DeGeneres, who had Lydia Lee on her show to perform the song live. And it didn't disappoint.
Just. Wow. This girl has some powerful pipes and we hope this exposure on Ellen gets her even more attention - what an amazing talent! The real deal.
Lydia talked about reading some of the comments on her YouTube video, explaining, "One of my favorites said that I should be on Ellen TV. And it had like 700 likes, and I was like, 'Wow, how did they know that?'"
Raf Simons left Christian Dior as creative director in October, after his final mesmerizing spring/summer 2016 show in Paris. In an in-depth interview with esteemed fashion writer Cathy Horn for System magazine, Raf reveals his intense creative process, reasons for departing the French fashion house, as well as his coming to terms with an increasingly fast-paced industry. At the center of the tell-all, Raf asks this most interesting question: Was fashion "better" when less people had access to it? He explains:
First, let's start off by pointing out that couture is definitely not accessible to most people around the globe. Sure, we stare at it from afar (at work, on our computer screens, scrolling through Snapchat), but high fashion is not usually part of our everyday lives unless we are Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner or any other of the young fashion folk rising up the ranks. Not only talking about the occasions when high fashion is appropriate, let alone the hefty price tag most people aren't able to pull off, if "everybody" is the stars walking Hollywood red carpets and performing on stage across the country, respectively, Raf is a little misguided.Second, as any art does, it comes in different forms. As Raf references "pop," it can only be assumed he means fashion for the masses. Is it such a bad thing to give people some outlet of creative expression, especially through a medium (getting dressed) that everyone (basically) has to take part in on a daily basis? If fashion is an art form, and art is one of most fulfilling pleasures in life, it's safe to say everyone should be able to experience it one way or another.
"Fashion became pop. I can't make up my mind if that's a good or a bad thing. The only thing I know is that it used to be elitist. And I don't know if one should be ashamed or not to admit that maybe it was nicer when it was more elitist, not for everybody. Now high fashion is for everybody."
This may be a crime against candy, but am I the only one who seriously prefers the holiday Reese's Peanut Butter Cups over the normal ones? I'm talking pumpkins, trees, eggs - you name it. There's always way more delicious peanut butter filling in the holiday-themed cups, and I am SO all about that PB life. This year, however, there's a lot more controversy surrounding the Christmas-themed Reese's than ever before. How come the trees don't look like trees this year?!
Some peanut butter lovers unwrapped a Reese's Peanut Butter Tree this year to discover something quite alarming. Instead of a Christmas tree, the Reese's candy was shaped like an amorphous blob - or, perhaps more accurately, one of the Reese's eggs that show up around Easter time. Obviously, fans voiced their disapproval on Twitter:
Did you ever think you might have a robot as your personal shopper? Prepare to be #MindBlown.
The latest AI developments might not bring computers any closer to world domination, but they will make holiday shopping a whole lot easier.
The power of IBM's Watson platform, a cognitive computing system which understands human speech and can actually learn, has been harnessed into an app that IBM claims will predict which products are most likely to sell out during the holiday season, according to Fast Company.
The app is called IBM Watson Trend, available now for iOS. The app is intended to make Watson's AI into a manageable tool that can be used by the average consumer. It'll show you predictions for top-selling products in three categories - toys, electronics and health and fitness - and tell you why each individual item is trending.
The secret to the smart app involves data mining from Twitter (Fortune reports that IBM has a formal data analysis relationship with the social media platform) as well as ratings and reviews from e-commerce sites and blogs. The Watson app then applies natural language understanding to analyze the results from over 10,000 sites and services. That's a lot of info.
Here's a video that breaks it down for you:
Looking to scoop up the trendiest gifts before they fly off the shelves? Better heed Watson's advice!
Septum rings aside, the nipple might be the most popular place that It girls are putting some bling of late. Here's a brief history of how it happened.
Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner, Bella Hadid and Rihanna are some of the celebs who have gone under the needle, according to Yahoo Beauty.
The whole thing started in January, when Kylie posted a pic on Instagram that showed a nipple piercing peeking through (it was soon deleted), and then followed it up with a Snapchat that hinted at hardware underneath.
It wasn't long before people started noticing Kendall's nip had some bling, too, which she later confirmed in September.
"I was going through a period in my life, having a rough time, being a rebel and was like 'Let's just do it,'" Kendall said to Page Six. She insists that the idea was hers first, even if Kylie bit the bullet first, reports People StyleWatch.
In October, Bella wore a Balmain frock that bared her nipples at the Vogue Paris 95th Anniversary Party, proving that she, too, is part of the club.
Rihanna, who's certainly not shy about her boobs, allowed her barbell to peek through a gauzy frock during Paris Fashion Week, while rocking a fresh "no-makeup" makeup look, proving that piercings don't have to be exclusive to tough girls (although Rihanna is pretty bad**s).
Now we can only wonder...who's next? Taylor Swift? Jourdan Dunn? Karlie Kloss?
Kylie Jenner didn't get to celebrate Tyga's birthday with him last week due to a very untimely breakup where the couple split on his special day. Fortunately, they're back together and things seem to be going just fine now, but Kylie didn't want to let Tyga's birthday go by without a celebration, even if it was just a small one.
In a video she uploaded to Snapchat, Kylie serenades Tyga with a sultry version of "Happy Birthday" as mom Kris Jenner sings along in the background and tells him to make a wish.
It's kind of odd that Kylie and Kris were the only ones who celebrated with him, given that the family generally does things like birthdays in a big group. For Khloe Kardashian's boyfriend James Harden's birthday, for example, they rented a yacht and the whole crew came along for a celebration complete with fireworks.
That being the case, it seems strange that Kylie and Kris were the only two reppin' the famous fam, but maybe everyone was just busy?
Kim Kardashian didn't have an easy pregnancy when she was pregnant with North West and it looks like she's unfortunately finding herself in a similar situation with this pregnancy.
In this new Keeping Up With The Kardashians sneak peek, Kris Jenner and Kourtney Kardashian are excited to hear how Kim's doctor appointment went and when they hear her news, they're understandably shaken.
Kim tells them that there is more fluid than normal in her placenta, which apparently can only mean two things: A carbohydrate intolerance or something much scarier, gestational diabetes.
Kim is trying not to get hung up on the possibility of the latter, but Kris warns her that it's very serious - in fact, she had it when she was pregnant with Kylie Jenner. "Your life is at stake," Kris warns.
She does admit that it's a wakeup call that things might not be going the way she thought they were and she's going to try to be more healthy.
Other than that scary possibility, Kim says the doctor told her that her baby is in the 95th percentile for height. "I'm like 'are you sure that's my kid?'" she joked (Kim is 5' 3").
Kim's second child is due some time around Christmas.
Last year, the celebrity hacking scandal racked the nerves of everyone with a cell phone - after all, we all have incriminating photos in our cloud. Nude photos of Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, Victoria Justice and McKayla Maroney were leaked on the internet, making us all question our digital privacy.
Apple admitted the celebs' phones were hacked, but denied that there was a breach in iCloud security. However, hacks like this could happen to anyone.
"The cloud is not secure," says Sunny Wu, co-founder of OneSafe, a tech company that protects your cloud privacy. "There are lots of possibilities that may cause your files to be peeked at or stolen. Hackers, of course, are one of them."
OneSafe, which announced its Kickstarter campaign to raise $50,000 today, is designed to secure files in iCloud, Google Drive, OneDrive and Dropbox, and is accessible via PC, Mac, tablet or smartphone. A mobile app is also in the works.
These jumbled bits are then stored in the cloud, so if your account is hacked, your date will be indecipherable.
"It takes less than one minute to sign up and connect with your existing cloud storage accounts," Sunny explains. "You will be asked to choose a personal file on your device as your 'master key' - it could be your dog's photo or your favorite song. All your files now can be encrypted automatically with your 'master key' with a single click before you putt or sync them in the cloud. Think it as a strong blender that breaks your files into unrecognizable pieces."
Sound cool? If you wanna support the cause, you can donate $35 to the Kickstarter campaign, and you'll get a sweet T-shirt.
Phew, we're feeling a lot better about all those embarrassing selfies now.
The Jonas Brothers reunited this week. Kind of. Well...Joe Jonas and Nick Jonas got their singing and dancing on, anyway. Pal Demi Lovato shared the hilarious footage of the bros rocking out, post AMAs, on a party bus...and we want more!
Demi hung with Nick and Joe, her boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama and some other friends on the VIP bus, which looked hella cool with neon blue lighting.
Demi snagged video of the guys getting totally hyped, singing and dancing to Blink-182's "All the Small Things." She captioned it: "Truly a beautiful moment displaying the bond between two brothers.... @joejonas @nickjonas"
In one pic of Demi and Wilmer snuggled up, she captioned it: "Bae photo cred:@joejonas." So cute.
You can also see Demi, Wilmer and Joe leaving the party bus, with Demi sharing: "Rolled up to our party blaring the thong song. Not even kidding."
We're guessing Joe knew the words better to that than he did to Demi's "Confident," which he was captured totally flubbing while she performed at the American Music Awards.
Nice try, Joe.
In other Jonas-related AMAs news, Nick came off quite the hero, saving singer Carrie Underwood from being crushed by one of those giant balls that made the rounds during the show.
He explained: "We almost lost one of the good ones last night at the AMAs. During Coldplays performance these giant light up balls were thrown in the audience. The one in my hands was heroically snatched out of the air by yours truly just before it had the chance to hit the lovely Carrie Underwood in the head. You're welcome Carrie. You're welcome world. #longlivecarrie #countrymusiclives #urwelcome"

Turns out, we're in good company when we cry our eyes out while listening to Adele's "Hello" because guess what? Adele does, too!
The 27-year-old did an interview after taping a session at The Church Studios and admitted that the first time she heard "Hello" on the radio, she fully broke down just like the rest of us - except that in her case, it was for a very different reason.
Listen's to "hello" from @OfficialAdele once😥 pic.twitter.com/Ni8PGofJOW- KATY PERRY (@katyperry) October 23, 2015
"After I heard it on the radio, it was such a relief. I went to the toilet and cried my eyes out," she confessed. "Such a relief not to hold a secret anymore." Can you imagine the responsibility of holding a secret as epic as that ballad?
Going to listen to '25' forever on repeat. K, bye.
So are they or aren't they? Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez sparked all sorts of dating rumors a few days ago when they were spotted hanging out together in Beverly Hills. But don't get too excited...
A Jelena source told People they are not a couple. "They care about each other and miss each other, but they're not getting back together right now," said the insider.
Selena performed her latest single "Same Old Love" at the American Music Awards on Sunday and attended Bieber's afterparty at The Nice Guy in Los Angeles, where the two were "just friendly."
Just hours before the awards show, the Biebs and Selena were spotted at a hotel bar together. He reportedly sang "My Girl" to her.
Blake Lively is a woman of many talents.
She can slay a red carpet in just about anything, strike a fierce (and daring) pose on an island hike...and also double as a seagull whisperer.
In a new post on Instagram, Blake showed off her seagull-taming skills when she posted a shot of herself sitting on set in a robe and shades, while she held a seagull in her hands that sat completely still. "NO: This is not the opening scene in Dumb & Dumber YES: That is a real Seagull," she captioned the snap.
What was missing from the caption, though, was an explanation of her dirt-covered feet in flip flops and why she had on only one sheer stocking. Blake has been shooting her new shark film The Shallows in Australia, so perhaps she was just out barefoot on the beach and accidentally stepped in a puddle of mud.
Either way, she's been making the most of her time there, taking time to explore Australia's countryside and hiking through it as well. Just last week, Blake showed off her hot "nature-inspired braid" during a hike and then posted a photo of herself displaying some incredible balance during another hike.
It's clear she's not afraid to get down and dirty (and give everyone their lives while doing so), and tor that we love her.
If you're debating about who's hotter: Zayn Malik or Justin Bieber, we've got the perfect solution. Check out this amazing Zayn and Justin face morph pic - it'll definitely blow your mind.
It's pretty trippy...the more we look at it, the harder it gets to pick out what's exactly a Zayn feature and what bits belong to Justin. But, wow, it goes to show that a Zayn and Biebs love child would hit the genetic jackpot.
This Zayn and Justin face morph was created by Dr. Lisa Debruine, of the Face Research Lab at the Institute of Neuroscience and Psychology at the University of Glasgow. So you know it's scientific.
And, just for a little comparison, let's check out that Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson face morph that has us losing our ish a while back.
As if Khloe Kardashian wasn't already under enough stress, the 31-year-old suffered a major health scare after contracting a staph infection and having to cancel a portion of her book tour as a result.
Given that the infection is highly contagious, Khloe also had to keep herself isolated so that she wouldn't pass it along to any of her friends, family members or pregnant sister Kim Kardashian.
Fortunately, the treatments she's been receiving have worked and she's on the mend. In an update posted to Twitter Tuesday evening, Khloe shared, "I'm so blessed I'm doing better and my infection is healing. I was able to be out and about today... Quarantine is over lol."
Staph is commonly found in hospitals and there has been some concern that Khloe possibly contracted it after spending so much time in the hospital with Lamar Odom.
While she is getting better and allowed to be out, she's not yet allowed to go back to the hospital to see Lamar. "Khloe is devastated that she can't go to the hospital and visit Lamar," a source told PEOPLE. "That's the thing that is bothering her most about the infection."
Get well soon, Khlo!
"It's super scary what's in most tampons on the market!" says Margo Lang, co-founder of Conscious Period, an organic tampon company. "Commercial products are rampant with dioxins, pesticide-sprayed and genetically-modified cotton (which contains cancer-causing glyphosate), chemicals and dyes - plus, because companies aren't required to tell you what's in tampons and pads you can't really know what's in them for sure!"
In addition, last month, activist group Women's Voices for the Earth protested outside of Procter & Gamble after commissioning research on Always pads, which tested positive for toxic chemicals like styrene and chloroform. And Democratic Rep. Carolyn Maloney of New York has introduced a bill asking companies to disclose what's in feminine hygiene products nine times, which has yet to move past the floor. SMH.
In light of this knowledge, Margo and co-founder Annie Lascoe created Conscious Period, a #BUILTBYGIRLS organic feminine hygiene company that wants to make organic, comfortable tampons that also give back. Conscious Period's Indiegogo campaign is live now through December 13.
In terms of comfort, Conscious Period is working on a top-quality product that expands in width to better fit your vag-jay-jay and is inserted with a BPA-free plastic applicator.
For each box of 'pons purchased, Conscious Period will donate a box of pads to a homeless shelter (pads are preferred by homeless women because they last longer and are easier to change).
Conscious Period is just one of several companies creating transparent feminine hygiene products. Lola has also called out the industry for making tampons with rayon, artificial fibers and polyester, peddling 'pons made from 100-percent cotton - in chic blue packaging that we actually want to see sitting in our bathrooms. And Jessica Alba's The Honest Company makes a line of tampons (with or without applicators), pads and panty liners also crafted with organic cotton.
Now that talking about your period is less taboo, we're excited to see women finally addressing the health risks in the personal care market. You can support Conscious Period's Indiegogo campaign for just $8 and also get a box of tampons. So worth it.
Gwen Stefani isn't shy about dropping 'L' bombs when it comes to Blake Shelton.
The rocker kinda made Adam Levine freak out while they were chatting with Entertainment Tonight after a recent episode of the Voice, when said she loved Blake. After they were asking what they're thankful for about their fellow coaches, Gwen started things off, saying, "I'm just so grateful that I got to know Adam. It's weird because he's such a good person, he's literally so smart and he's so witty and talented and I've just learned so much."
Then, Adam chimed in and said with a laugh, "F**k Blake. I've known Blake for too long. Blake's just my buddy...I'm just kidding. I love you, Blake! Kinda. Ish." At that point, Gwen quickly chimed in and said, "I love you too, Blake. Ish." Whoa.
"Trouble...context...you f*cking screwed yourself on that one. I try to protect you and then you do something like that," he said with a big smile. Gwen laughed and said, "do you think that was dumb?" This isn't the first time Gwen has shown love for Blake, though. Just a couple of weeks ago, she posted a shot of herself, Blake and Pharrell posing on the set of the Voice with the caption, "❤ them."
They also haven't strayed away from packing on the PDA on the Voice set either. During the show's filming Monday night, for example, they kept whispering into each other's ears, according to E! Online. And last week she ran over to Blake and he picked her up and swung her around during the coach's introductions before the show.
Sources told the site that they're "extremely happy" together and her friends "believe she found love again."
If you have not seen YouTuber James Wright turn into Patti Labelle and sing the heck out of "If You Only Knew" after one bite of her sweet potato pies, you're about to get your life.
The video was so epic that his review of Patti's Sweet Potato Pies - which are sold exclusively at Wal-Mart - went Viral, getting over 13 millions views combined on YouTube and Facebook. In it, James takes a bite out of a pie and starts singing "On My Own" and "If You Only Knew."
"B*tch, I turned into Patti," he said. "You gonna turn into Patti after eating this." As the video grew in popularity, suddenly so did Patti's pie sales, with the Thanksgiving pies even selling out at some Walmarts.
"They have been a home run with customers this fall and are now a grand slam thanks to James' entertaining review," Walmart spokesman John Forrest Ales told Fox News's Chew on This. "These pies were selling at a rate of one pie a second for 72 straight hours last weekend."
After receiving a bit of backlash for not acknowledging James' influence on the rate her pies were selling, Patti not only gave him props for it, but invited him over for Thanksgiving dinner as well.
"My new friend James Wright did this fierce video and it took the pie over the top and people are losing their minds about the pie and thank you James Wright," she told FOX 29 Tuesday. "She went on to say that they're spending Thanksgiving together and she is going to cook for him."
"You give love to people who give you love," she continued. "And you know, I didn't expect a viral video." We're crossing our fingers James records that Thanksgiving experience.
Have you ever wanted to model for your favorite brand?
That's now a possibility with Eloquii, a plus-size apparel company, since it debuted its "Spotlight Series" earlier this month.
Eloquii was relaunched in April of 2014 with a few new investors, after a short year-and-a-half-long first run. The brand designs trend-forward, wearable styles for women sizes 14 to 24.
The plus-size market, so often underserved by trendy fast-fashion brands, begged for Eloquii's return, and now its loyal customer base is getting recognition in an awesome new way during the brand's second life.
"When I began to talk to customers, I realized [how] amazing and inspiring some of the customers are," says Jodi Arnold, Creative Director of Eloquii. "I think there can be stereotypes attached to plus-size women - maybe that they are in a lower socioeconomic bracket, or maybe that they are lazy or not high achievers but in talking to our customer, I hear the exact opposite."
The "Spotlight Series" is a feature in Eloquii's monthly e-zine, Style & Substance, that profiles customers who are doing cool things, wearing some of the brand's latest styles.
"We also as a team started to tire of so much focus always being around size or shape and how you can feel and look 'sexy,'" Jodi continues. "We want to pull the focus away from that and focus on the amazing things these women have accomplished and, in addition, show our clothes styled in many different ways."
The first star of the "Spotlight Series" is Anne Wright, a kick**s aspiring opera singer, who looks seriously amazing modeling trendy looks like a sequin skirt and a bodycon dress, complete with style tips.
You can check out the series here, and be sure to keep an eye out for the next #GirlBoss to model for Eloquii!
Let's be honest...the world is a little better with more Zendaya in it.
After attending the unveiling of her two new wax figures at Madame Tussauds in San Francisco, the K.C. Undercover star showed them off on Instagram, posing in the middle of the Zendaya twins. "Presenting...the world premiere of...Zendestiny's Child #madametussauds," she captioned it.
In the snap, Zendaya poses in the middle of them in a hot denim outfit, complete with a crop top, jacket and high waist skirt, while both of the wax figures are dressed in outfits she's rocked before. According to InStyle, one of the figures is wearing her hot pink Material Girl dress from the 2014 Teen Choice Awards, and the other is wearing a black and metallic Rubin Singer ensemble she's worn before as well."This is a major, major honor and it's so cool to have it in the Bay where I'm from," Zendaya said at the reveal, according to the Orlando Sentinel. "This is the best trip ever. I get to be home and be with my people ... and also my twins."
Twins is right. The wax figures look so much like Zendaya that it's tough to tell which one is the real Zendaya when they're all standing together. Our girl is just the latest celeb to be honored with a wax figure at the museum, with Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj and many more getting immortalized in wax as well.
