Cambio caught up with Elizabeth Olsen to talk about the horror movie Silent House.

Silent House is about a family that is trapped in their summer home, unable to contact the outside world. Olsen explains how the movie was shot in 10-minute or 12-minute cuts to show the movie in real time.

"We would take ten, twelve minute chunks at a time, and we would do one chunk a day," said Olsen. "So, we would just do it over, over, and over again. Usually by the end of the day, we would have one or two options."

There wasn't really editing while filming the movie, so everything had to be shot as perfect as possible.

"You're basically trying to create a pace while you're going," said Olsen. "You're trying to tighten things up at the right time, trying to light things with this hand lamp that you have, you just hope that one take is technically correct."

Well, Olsen wished that would be true every time they shot the cuts.

"The very last shot, goes to a picture and right when the camera got there a hand was pulling out because it was being placed there," she said. "It just got someone's hand, so it [the cut] was completely unusable."

She also mentioned how shooting the movie this way was a bit frustrating, and a challenge at the same time. In the end though, she learned that you have to be okay with what you got.

She's always been a horror movie fan.

"I love so many scary movies," she said. "I grew up sneaking horror films with my friend from her stepfather."

Some of her favorite movies include Carrie, and a French movie called Them, which is also like a trapped in a house type of horror movie.

Silent House releases in theaters on March 9.
