We need to be BFFs with Ed Sheeran right now. The guy isn't only a musical genius, but he's also a really great friend. Just ask singer Sam Smith, who luckily had Ed there for him when Twitter trolls got the best of him the other day.It all went down after Sam took to the site shortly after performing "Stay With Me" on the X Factor finale last night, saying he's "too sensitive" to deal with online abuse.
He wrote, "Starting to get hate tweets. I knew this would come. I'm too sensitive for this s*** haha." He added, "Goodnight all. I love you."
That's when Ed came to the rescue. After reading Sam's sad tweets, he replied with a photo of a computer nerd with huge glasses on. He captioned it, "@samsmithworld I'm willing to bet that they are under 12, live in the middle of nowhere, and look like this."
He then went and added a pic of a huge naked man siting at the computer. He titled that one, "or this."
We're sure that made Sam chuckle, and feel better. It definitely made us smile.
Perhaps Sam should take some advice from his pal Taylor Swift, too? He was at her birthday party over the weekend, and we all know she knows how to shake the haters off.
