Jennifer Lopez is getting candid about her past loves in a surprising way.
While she's praised the majority of her exes in the past, the singer-actress wrote in her upcoming memoir, True Love, that she has felt abused in some of her former relationships.
Although she didn't claim to have suffered any physical abuse - or specify who she was referring to - J.Lo wrote, "I've never gotten a black eye or a busted lip, but I've felt abused in one way or another: mentally, emotionally, verbally," according to People.
"Every day that you don't walk out that door, every day you accept things in your partner and in yourself, is a day that you're saying it's okay," she continued.
The American Idol judge also opened up on Facebook, posting a video in which she wrote, "Sometimes you have to explore the darkness to get to the light and get back to who you are, because you can't expect to be treated great if you don't first believe that you are great."

J.Lo told the mag her memoir started out as a "fan book," detailing the years she went on tour. "But it turned into something else," she continued. "As I started looking at things, it helped me face a lot. I would never go into specifics about my relationships, and I don't. But the idea was that I learned something.""I had to learn to take care of myself and know my worth," she continued. "When things are not working out, and you're not being treated in a way that you want to be treated, you have to look at that because it's nobody's fault but yours. You have to take control and you have to set up your own boundaries. You have the power to change it."
J.Lo not only talks about the "ups and downs of her love life" in the book, People reported, but she also reveals why she called it quits with her ex-husband Marc Anthony.
