
In the ad, the headline screams: "No animals were harmed' - really One Direction?" In addition to a shocking image, the copy includes: "After [wild animals] become unmanageable or are no longer profitable to their owners, they are typically discarded, like Chubbs."
The animal rights organization claim that One Direction used a trainer with "shocking violations" of animal welfare standards whose animals often suffered "abusive training methods."
Last week Peta called out the band's video in a statement reading:
"PETA is asking that the boys immediately cut the scene with the chimpanzee and the other wild animals, pledge never to work with animals again and donate a percentage of the proceeds from the song to an organisation that rescues chimpanzees and cares for them properly."
