Amy Poehler Misses 'Parks and Recreation,' Totally Digs Chillin' in the Emmys Audience

0

After witnessing Amy Poehler's faux snoozefest during Julia Louis-Dreyfus' acceptance speech, it totally makes sense why she admitted on the Emmys red carpet that she actually prefers chillin' with her fellow thespians in the Emmys audience (even she totally rocked her presentation of the night's first award with Amy Schumer).

Before the awards show kicked off, the 44-year-old actress chatted with E!'s Ryan Seacrest about what she misses about playing the political maniac Leslie Knope on Parks and Recreation.

"I miss the people," Amy said of her former co-stars. "I miss the cast and hanging with them every day and getting to see their great faces, and the work and playing Leslie Knope. I loved all of them."

How sweet, Amy.! But seriously, we're dying to know the deets on exactly what's so special about watching the show from the crowd instead of being on the stage -especially coming from someone who's up for more than one award.

"I could get a little drunk," Amy admitted. "Andy [Samberg] will do a good job."

OK, so we have no shame in saying that this makes us long for an Amy Poehler-hosted Emmys even more! We could only imagine the hilarity that would ensue if Amy went slightly Kanye on us and sipped on a little something before the gig.

There's always next year, Amy.

What Amy Poehler Misses Most About 'Parks and Recreation'

Evan Ross Wore the Biggest Hat Ever to the 2015 Emmys

People's Pharrell just got some major competition in the hat department.

Evan Ross wore a huge hat to the Emmys Sunday, when he walked the red carpet with his sister Tracee Ellis Ross, who wore a strapless pink dress to the show. He completed his look with a black suit and white collared shirt.
People's It's not clear how his extra large panama hat tied in with that look, but he went for it anyway. Considering it was at least 100 degrees (literally) in Los Angeles when stars hit the red carpet at the Emmys, maybe he was just trying to shield himself from the sun. Either way, here's hoping he took the hat off when the show began so he didn't block anyone's views of it.

Evan's hat aside, the new dad recently gushed about his wife Ashlee Simpson and their baby girl, telling Entertainment Tonight, "I'm so in love. I love my daughter, I love my wife. She's given me the best gift in the world. I'm very lucky."

Calling fatherhood "beyond life-changing," he said his daughter is "the most beautiful thing you could ever think of," adding, "I'm proud to be a dad, and I'm going to make sure she knows she's loved, and that's all I can do."

Big hat or not, this guy gives us all types of feels.

Lady Gaga's Flawless Emmys Appearance Totally Impressed Fans on Twitter

67th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards - ShowThe Little Monsters were likely perched in front of their TVs, awaiting the arrival of their musical fairy godmother Lady Gaga. The soon-to-be American Horror Story star was a vision in black, as she donned a simple yet sexy gown for her Emmys debut.

Gaga was on hand to present the award for Outstanding Actor in a Limited Series, which was nabbed by veteran actor Richard Jenkins, who had a bit of a moment handling the glamorous singer's presence.

"That was Lady Gaga," the 68-year-old star began his speech, causing Gaga to blush and cover her face.
67th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards - Show
Gaga did a great job at presenting, but we have to say this was a rather tame look for her (we're guessing the meat dress wouldn't go over so well at the Emmys). And judging by how Twitter reacted to her look, we weren't the only ones who noticed. Yes, Lady Gaga. Subtle slayage at its finest.

Bobs Stole the Show at the 2015 Emmys

If there was one trend at the 2015 Emmys that stood out the most, it was definitely the bob.

Taraji P. Henson, Sarah Hyland and Claire Danes were just a few of the many stars who rocked the short 'do with their hot red carpet looks at the awards show, which proved to be perfect for the 100-degree temps in Los Angeles (can you imagine standing out in that?!).
While we would've passed out after two seconds in that heat, these ladies and more stars like Lady Gaga, Taylor Schilling and Kerry Washington still managed to kill it, looking hot AF themselves with wavy bobs, straight, sleek bobs and bobs with a combed back bang.

Blindspot star Jaimie Alexander and American Horror Story star Sarah Paulson also sported the look, but put a twist on it by slicking their bobs straight back. That 'do gave both of them an edgy vibe, which complemented their glam, shimmery gowns.
Basically, if you have a bob and felt stuck in a rut, you totally just lucked out, considering the Emmys carpet was a how-to guide on how to style your bob in at least five different ways.

This is so making us want to chop our locks tomorrow so we can try these looks too. #hairgoals

Amy Schumer Kept it Totally Real During Her Emmys Acceptance Speech

Emmy's 2015: Amy Schumer's Acceptance Speech Makes Us Love Her Even More
We have to thank Amy Schumer for treating us to one of the realest moments from the 2015 Emmy Awards.

On Sunday evening, the 34-year-old star accepted the trophy for her first Emmy win after Inside Amy Schumer beat out the competition for Best Variety Sketch Series. A visibly shaken (and excited!) Amy expressed gratitude for the comedic series' head writer and her family.

We almost teared up a little when she offered beautiful words of thanks for her sister Kim, crediting her as the "only reason I'm alive and breathing." If that wasn't authentic enough for you, Amy took a moment out to shout out her makeup artist.

"I'm so proud," she said. "This show fights for what we believe in. Thanks everybody... the girl who gave me this sort of a smoky eye. I really love it, and I wanna thank my family and Dan Powell. We created this show together."

That's right, Amy. Own your sexy - and your Emmy!

Before and during the ceremony, Amy was in rare form. Given it's her first Emmy win, this is probably a night she won't soon forget. Then again, that may have something to do with her plan to get blackout drunk - we're just sayin'...

iPhone Look Different? It's Not In Your Head

young woman smiling mobile phone in park
If you're like a ton of us out there, your iPhone might as well be another limb - and when you notice something is different with it, you totally freak out. Recently tons of loyal iPhone users noticed that there was something just a tad off about their beloved smartphone - but not everyone could articulate what it actually was. If you picked up on that, it's not in your head: the iPhone's latest change pretty much changes everything you do on your phone.

So what is this "major change?" It's actually a super simple one: Apple has officially updated the iPhone's font. iPhone users who upgraded their software to iOS 9 may have noticed a change in their iPhone's text, which is now in a font called "San Francisco." Apple Watch users are already familiar with the San Francisco font, and now the modern iPhoner will get to experience it, too. Here's what it looks like: Of course, not everyone is so keen on the font change - plenty of people on Twitter freaked the eff out over the new look: Something tells me that this "fontgate" will die down after everyone gets used to staring at texts written in San Francisco. Until then, haters gonna hate - and wish they were still using Neue Helvetica.

A Teen Died After His Parents Allegedly Punished Him By Forcing Him to Drink Alcohol

glass spilled whiskey and...
There are some serious risks involved with binge drinking, and over consumption of alcohol isn't anything to mess around with. It's fairly typical for teens and young adults to indulge when their parents aren't watching, which is why there are so many tragic stories from college campuses of students dying of alcohol-related causes. Sadly, one teenager allegedly died under his parent's watch as part of an alcohol "lesson" gone horribly wrong, and it should be a warning to everyone about the dangers associated with drinking in excess.

Joseph M. Richardson and his wife Paulette L. Richardson were arrested after their son, 16-year-old Kendal Ball, was found dead in his room. Kendal had a blood alcohol level of .587, which is significantly higher than the .08 level needed in order to be considered intoxicated while driving - and the alleged reason why Kendal drank so much in the first place is so, so scary.

According to People, Joseph and Paulette allegedly wanted to get Kendal so intoxicated and sick that he would be completely turned off by alcohol in the future. Kendal's biological father was reportedly an alcoholic, which worried Kendal's parents about Kendal choosing to drink. Tragically, Kendal never even had the chance to think about his decision to drink or not: Kendal went to bed at 10:30 PM, and when his stepfather checked on him several hours later, he was not breathing. The autopsy revealed that Kendal died due to complications related to "acute alcohol poisoning."

The entire story is so heartbreaking, but perhaps the real lesson we can all learn from this horrible ordeal is that drinking irresponsibly can have tragic consequences. Alcohol is a controlled substance for a reason, and should be consumed wisely. Forcing someone to drink, no matter what the intention behind it, can cause death or other serious health issues. Let's hope that Kendal's story makes people consider their own behavior, because these stories simply shouldn't happen.

Amy Poehler Is Working on a New Show, But There's a Big Catch

0

amy poehler at the 65th...Fact: Amy Poehler is a comedy queen. Not only is she a former Saturday Night Live fave and a hilarious Emmy loser, but her series Parks and Rec - which she produced, wrote and starred on, NBD - made us wish that Leslie Knope was running our town and our fictional BFF. So, obviously, it's only good news that, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Amy is getting another comedy series on NBC - even though there is a catch.

I'm majorly stoked about Amy returning to TV, but while her presence will be felt, it might not be seen. The series, which has a pilot production deal at NBC right now, is called Dumb Prince and is about a royal who isn't sure he's the right fit to run his kingdom. Amy is producing it, but so far there's no word on whether she'll be the show's female lead or even on it at all. Sigh.
I'll happily check out absolutely anything that Amy does ever, but I'm a little bummed that the comedy queen isn't already slotted to play a princess or some other royal on Dumb Prince. Who better to co-star on a Poehler production than Amy herself? Fingers crossed that should Dumb Prince get a full season order, Amy makes major waves in the guest star department - I need this face back on TV, stat.

Selena Gomez at the Louis Vuitton Series 3 VIP Launch - Arrivals - LFW SS16Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, watch out! You aren't the only ones killing it at New York Fashion Week these days. Selena Gomez just posted a sexy shot of herself having a blast at the event, and it was instantly the most "liked" photo from this year's NYFW event. Get it, girl!

No nipples or nudity needed, Selena shared a picture of herself stylin' and profilin' at NYFW and it slayed. In a black, leather romper ensemble, Selena posed and showed off her best, pretty-girl fish-face all while looking cute outside an event for Ralph Lauren.
Taking reign over pics of Kim and even North West, Sel's photo took the top spot for this year's most "liked" #NYFW picture. Pretty cool since the shot is nothing too risque! She looks adorbs in it, we can see why everyone "liked" it.

Between her style and her body positivity, Selena is winning people over, and her social media will only back up that statement. With 44.2 million followers, she's got a ways to go before catching up with Kim K and T.-Swift, but she owned NYFW..."never say never!"

Lady Gaga Shut it Down After The Emmys in This White Hot Dress

67th Primetime Emmy Awards Fox After Party
Yasssss! Lady Gaga was a woman after our fashionista hearts at the Emmys and after the show.

After making us swoon on the red carpet in a structured black Brandon Maxwell dress, Mother Monster brought it again at the Fox/FX Emmy bash, killing it in a white dress by the designer that made our jaws drop.

As Gaga sauntered over to the step and repeat, she had almost a regal vibe and proved once again that she can slay a simplistic glam look just as well as an over-the-top outfit. Gaga also thanked American Horror Story: Hotel executive producer Ryan Murphy for allowing her to be a part of the upcoming FX show, and included a collage of herself giving everyone their lives in her fab after party frock. Ryan also gushed over Gaga at the Emmys, telling Entertainment Tonight, "I have to say, she's one of the great professional joys in my life. She has been such a team player. The cast and crew is obsessed with her, her performance is amazing, she's a great actress."

He also dished on how she'll first appear on AHS, saying, "Her introduction is a six-minute [scene] -- almost like a silent movie with no dialogue, and lots of blood and nudity. We started shooting on one of our first days, and you always want to throw people in with sort of an easy scene and she said, 'No, let's go for it.' So, it's pretty phenomenal and I think she'll surprise - in a great way - a lot of people."

American Horror Story: Hotel debuts Oct. 7 at 10 p.m. on FX. We have almost bitten off our fingernails in anticipation.

Taylor Swift Columbus zooWe're pretty sure the Columbus Zoo wins at everything in life. They just created a Taylor Swift-tribute music video, and it's the best thing ever. So much so, that even Taylor herself posted about it on Twitter.

In honor of Taylor playing in Columbus, Ohio last weekend, the zoo released their own version of her "Wildest Dreams" music video full with giraffes, a lion, and a vintage plane and all. It's pretty much the coolest T-Swiz remake.

"Taylor Swift, make our WILDEST DREAMS come true by visiting the Columbus Zoo," says the zoo's Facebook video post. Taylor caught wind of the video and posted an adorable message to the zoo. Watch the zoo's "Wildest Dreams" remake below. #CutestThingEver

One Direction Performing at the Super Bowl Halftime Show?

0

One Direction Super Bowl halftime show performersThis could potentially be the most exciting One Direction news ever and the saddest...all at the same time.

On the good news front, there are rumors swirling that 1D is on the short list of performers for the 2016 Super Bowl halftime show. How amazing would that be, honestly?

There's also plenty of goss that One Direction's Super Bowl appearance will be their final performance as a band for awhile - you know, like a farewell performance before they go on hiatus?

A source tells the Daily Star: "NFL bosses want a superstar line-up and One Direction are very much in the mix. They want a pop and rock mash-up and it is thought that Coldplay and Bruno Mars are in talks too."

The insider added: "With the band finishing it would be the ultimate way for the group to say farewell to their fans." This source is definitely making it sound like the band will do the Super Bowl and then break up for good.

Since we know they're taking a break next year, it seems like an obvious rumor to spin, considering pegging them for the Super Bowl would be an epic last performance together.

Given that the guys have reassured the fans that they'll be back after their much needed hiatus, however, we think if they do the Super Bowl, it certainly won't be their last performance together.

At least, that's what we keep telling ourselves.

Also? Please have Zayn Malik pop up out of the stage as a special surprise, okay?

You Can Now Find Out Your Uber Rating and It May Cause Panic

0

kuala lumpur malaysia ...
I live in Los Angeles, where public transportation is a huge mystery to most people, and Uber is my app BFF. Heading somewhere where you don't want to deal with any parking ish? Just call up your friendly neighborhood Uber driver and he or she will be by in a few minutes to make your life way easier. Uber riders know that it's their duty to rate drivers based on their performance, but it's not just on passengers: Uber drivers also give out an Uber passenger score. Now, for the first time, Uber riders can find out exactly what their score is. Gulp.

Just like the riders, the Uber drivers dish out a score of one through five after the ride ends. If you've had a pleasant ride experience, your driver will likely give you a five star rating. Of course, if you were super obnoxious and got into a screaming match with your boyfriend while you were stuck in bumper to bumper traffic, well, maybe expect a lower score.

So how do you check your passenger rating? If you're brave enough to receive feedback on your car behavior, open the Uber app, and click on the pull down menu on the top left of the screen. Click "Help," and then "Account." You'll see an option called "I'd like to know my rating." Click that, and then hit "Submit." An Uber representative will contact you with your score via e-mail.

I'm currently waiting to receive mine, but in the meantime, I'm going to be extra nice to my Uber drivers. It's about human decency... and also keeping that score high.

Kendall Jenner Explains How She Keeps Her Love Life Under Wraps

While you'd never know it when she's flaunting her fierceness on the runway for some of the hottest designers, Kendall Jenner is actually pretty shy.

Beyond that, she just really likes to keep her private life private, which is totally understandable. Being on a reality show and having paparazzi follow you would already chip away at your privacy enough, we totally see why she doesn't want to be sharing what little is left all over social media, especially when it comes to her relationships.

In this interview with Entertainment Tonight, Kendall explains how she keeps her love life under wraps. She also says that even though she tries her best, she isn't about to let being seen out with a male friend (and the rumors that will inevitably follow) deter her from enjoying her life. "If I want to go grab a smoothie with a friend who is a male, I'm not going to let the paparazzi stop me from doing that," she reveals.
Celebrity Sightings In New York City - September 03, 2015
Kendall also told an awesome story about how sister Kim Kardashian told her she was pregnant, saying she was at Coachella - in a supermarket, no less! - when Kim FaceTimed her and told her. "I was like shhhh! be quiet," she recalled. "There's people around, I know you're probably trying to keep this on the DL right now and I'm in a supermarket!" LOL! We're pretty shocked nobody overheard and leaked the big news.

4 Things Female Sports Fans Are Sick of Hearing

0

beautiful american football fanBeing a female sports fan is a normal thing, but many people don't see it that way. They tend to say things like:

Do you even like that team?
As a really big fan of the Yankees, I will often wear my Alex Rodriguez jersey or a Yankees hat, a wristband or whatever I want to wear - because I'm fan - not because it's cute like many people assume. No, I'm not wearing the hat because it matches my outfit, #thankyouverymuch.

Do you even know what is going on?
Let's say a crazy play was just made, and you cheer in excitement like everybody else in the room. Then somebody asks, "Do you even know what's going on?" Honestly, I could give you a play-by-play, so chill, brother.

Can you name at least one of the players?
OK, so you tell somebody that you like sports, but you somehow have to prove it to them. They start asking you dumb questions like, " Do you know who Derek Jeter is?", which is totally ridiculous! If I say that I like sports, that's all there is to it. I have nothing to prove to you.

You only watch sports for the hot guys!
NOPE! I watch sports for the same reason that you do: the thrill of the game! You know, getting together to watch the game, screaming with passion when your team scores some runs. The fact that the players happen to be easy to the eyes and look marvelous with those tight pants is just a big plus.

Why Kendall Jenner Stopped Reading Comments on Social Media

Calvin Klein Collection - Front Row - Spring 2016 New York Fashion Week: The ShowsKendall Jenner is definitely more shy than most of her sisters and just because their family is extremely famous doesn't mean Kendall necessarily wants to throw herself into that spotlight when she doesn't have to.

Unlike sister Kim Kardashian who loves sharing selfies with her Instagram followers, or Kylie Jenner who essentially livestreams her entire life in her epic Snapchat stories, Kendall is much less active on the social media front.

And it's not that Kendall just forgets to update us on social media, she actively chooses not to share too much of her personal life on there anymore - and for very good reason. "When I was younger, I used to tweet a lot, everything I was doing and feeling," she told Women's Wear Daily. "I can't do that anymore, because it's just giving people too much room to judge."
BuzzFoto Celebrity Sightings In New York Ð September 16, 2015
"I don't need it to affect my life. So I'd rather just not look at anything," she continued. "You can get a million comments about how beautiful you look and how awesome you are, but the one comment that says they hate you and you're ugly is the one that sticks."

Isn't that the truth?

She did say that she loves posting a good picture, though - and since we can't imagine there could possibly ever be a BAD picture of Kendall, she certainly has plenty to choose from!

Speaking of good pictures, Kendall definitely goes for quality over quantity. While she doesn't post all that much, she currently holds the record for most liked photo on Instagram, with 3.1 million likes on this beautiful photo of her heart hair.

I'm All About That Shade: Essie's Fall 2015 Collection

nail artI love rock 'n' roll, so put another Essie nail polish in the jukebox, baby! Those are the lyrics, right? Well, they should be once you take a look and get your hands on Essie's Leggy Legend Fall 2015 collection.

I had the chance to attend the preview party of Essie's new 1970s rock 'n' roll-inspired shades, and can I just say that I have never been so excited to paint my nails? These colors are edgier than ever and just perfect for the season of renewal. Essie's formula is always on point, so with these polishes, all you'll need are one to two coats. Since we're always trying to remain ahead of the game when it comes to trends, I thought it'd be cool to share with you all the nail polishes you'll want to hunt this fall.

Color Binge
essie color bingeFor those of you who aren't quite ready to turn in your bright shades, you'll love Color Binge. This nail polish is your ideal bright red with a coral undertone. It will definitely complement that summer glow you are still rocking.

In the Lobby
essie in the lobbyJust give me a dark plum color for the fall, and I'm a happy camper. In the Lobby tends tends to look like a deep cherry and/or burgundy in certain lights, but regardless, it is lovely for the season. I'd say with two coats you'll be feeling like royalty.

Bell Bottom Blues
essie bell bottom bluesWhen I saw this shade, I immediately thought of Taylor Swift. The teal glimmer on this navy creme polish is beautiful, and we know T-Swift is the queen of everything glimmer and sparkly. You only need one coat of Bell Bottom Blues to grab everyone's attention.

Frock 'N Roll
essie frock n rollThis shade is just everything. Frock N' Roll takes it a whole 'nother planet - it legit resembles the galaxy. It is a stunning grayish-taupe creme with shimmers. I am just straight up in love with it. One coat is just enough.

Leggy Legend
essie leggy legendOh my gold! This will most certainly be my go-to nail polish once the holidays start kicking in. The red shimmers are the cherry on top of this dazzling metallic shade. Two coats are all you'll need to feel like a bronze goddess.

With the Band
essie with the bandI see this shade as an everyday go-to this fall. Don't be fooled, this is not your classic burgundy. I was surprised to discover that it comes off as more of a brick red. It's still very easy on the eyes, and with two coats, it'll make you happy all season long.

Recreate The Runway: Rachel Zoe

rachel zoe, trend, fallI was nervous, like, so nervous standing outside the Rachel Zoe SS16 runway show. It was my first time attending New York Fashion Week, so I didn't know what to expect. Outside the venue was a blur of walking and running. Thee fashion bloggers walked by wearing the most extravagant high fashion outfits. The street style photographers ran as they tried to snap the perfect picture. And then, there was me - starstruck, amazed and a little out of place.

Rachel shares the insight into her collection and the woman who inspired it: "She's very strong, she's very confident, she's very cool... It's a woman who's always multitasking, always on the go." My take, the collection is modern boho with an everyday accessibility. The beautiful details create a sophistication that balances the gypsy vibes and keeps it fashion forward. At the same time, Rachel always keeps her collection effortlessly cool. Bravo!
My new love for the contemporary color palette and boho mood inspired me to do a little online shopping! These are some pieces that will give a similar vibe:look for less, bohemian, rachel zoe

Love Yourself, Even Your Love Handles

0

fit and fashion jeans for every ...Every girl worries about her body and how she looks. Body image has a big impact on our self image. No matter how smart or nice we are, we look in the mirror, and the only thing we see is our bodies. We ignore every good thing about us and just focus on that one thing.

We should love our bodies, no matter what shape we are in. It doesn't matter if you're tall, fat, short or skinny. The most important thing is to be confident in what you have and what you look like. Despite everything, you're beautiful and lovely. You should love your body and take care of it; always remember that. Plus, body shaming is a disgusting thing.

Through all of my childhood, I've been called chubby and fat. I used to be bullied at school, and when I got home, I used to cry about it because it was making me feel bad about myself even though I was a fifth grader. I was hurting, but then I decided to lose weight. I did shed the pounds, but I still feel fat and not comfortable in my body.

That's a very common thing these days - to not feel comfortable in your own body and skin. It's also a very sad thing to hear from someone. Society wants girls to look like models and wants them to do this and that but not do that, and it's not a good thing. We should encourage girls to be themselves and not someone else. We should love our bodies and skin and feel comfortable in it because not loving yourself will not let other people love you. Love yourself first. That's a number one rule you should follow.

The One Problem Every Book Lover Has

0
0
reading a book conceptBook nerd problem No. 34570: I have so many books, but I can't decide what to read.
But how to choose the books that you will read (after you just finished a book that was just so good that you wanted to finish but didn't want it to end) is not an easy task.
If your book shelf is a big as mine, which is pretty BIG I must say, you may want to follow this tips.

Organize your shelf as often as possible.
If you are anything like me, you buy oh so many books at the same time. Then you get all those new books, and the old ones that you haven't read, but that new Nicholas Sparks movie is coming out and you haven't read the book, so you skip the others and go straight to that one. Then you have to take a break from reading because that book was so perfect that you need time to be emotionally ready for the next story, and your next fictional love.
Watch movies that are based on books.
Most of the time, I'd rather read the book first and then watch the movie, but sometimes watching the movie first is not a bad idea. Have you ever watched an amazing movie and become crazy addicted to it, did a quick research to know the name of that cute guy with the British accent and then you find out that it is based on a book, so you just go online and buy it?. We've all been there.

Go to a book store and read a few pages of a book.
Oh, you know, just walk by the shelf, take the one with the beautiful cover and read a page or two - or the whole chapter - totally up to you. Or just look up reviews of that book that you are dying to read and see if it's the right time to do so. I mean, we've got Goodreads, Book Bloggers, booktubers, etc., and as long as you are reading, you'll be happy!
