Zayn Malik Paris Fashion Week picsWhen hot guy worlds collide. Zayn Malik, getting up to "normal 22-year-old" guy things (that will forever haunt him, honestly), went to the Paris Fashion Week Valentino Menswear show today. Ya know, like normal dudes do.

He also had a little hang with Joe Jonas, as the two smoldering singers posed together for pics and sat front row at the show. Let's just let this sink in for a minute, shall we?

Zayn, still sporting the white (blonde?) hair, made his way to the event looking quite serious along the way, stopping to pose for pics with fans before having a look at all the runway models.

He even gave a shoutout to fans about his Paris trip, writing: By familiar faces, was he including Joe? Because, yep. This happened: Thumbs up. Oh yeah.

50 Cent Is Still Cracking Jokes About Diddy's Arrest

50 Cent has been going after Sean 'Diddy' Combs and his Ciroc "Puffy Juice" for quite some time, so when Diddy got arrested for allegedly fighting his son's football coach, we knew the rapper was going to have some jokes.

And he didn't disappoint. Not long after news surfaced that Diddy was not only behind bars, but the altercation involved a kettlebell, 50 put up video after video of himself pretending to bail Diddy out.

"Puffy is in a UCLA campus jail right now! Sh*t got real with the coach! We got to go get him!...yeah man, you know how sh*t goes," he said in one video, with a poster of his TV show "Power" and a bottle of his Effen Vodka in the background.

"Yeah man they say Puffy went Ciroc coco on the coach with a kettlebell... all this sh*t started since Drake man, he be wanting to f**k everybody up," he said as he counted money, referencing an incident outside a Miami club last year where Diddy reportedly punched Drake. "Yeah man I'm counting the bail money right now so I can get him before he f**k me up, I'm scared to death around here."
The next day though, we saw a softer side of 50 when he appeared on HuffPost Live. He said he was done cracking jokes after Diddy was charged with three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, one count of making terrorist threats, and one count of battery. He even took down the videos and memes he posted about it.

"That's when it stops being funny," he said in the interview Tuesday. "It's not funny anymore. If you look at my social networking you see that I took all of those things down...I'm getting [the news] like everyone else is getting it and just making fun of the situation, but when it gets to him actually getting charged with something, then we pump the brakes a little bit and see what happens with his actual case."

"It's not the first time a parent has gotten into an argument with a coach," he continued. "And the coach particularly involved in this situation, is someone who we could call, like, an a**hole."

Hours later though, 50 let all that go and posted another meme about Diddy and that kettlebell. Then, went back to posting videos Wednesday when Rick Ross got arrested on kidnapping and assault charges. While he was clowning Rick, he went ahead and got one more jab in on Diddy too. "Fat Boy in the jail to Fu😆k EM. Them ni66as bunkies 😝 #EFFENVODKA #FRIGO #SMSAUDIO nopuffyjuice nobumjuice," he captioned it.

Students Create Condoms That Change Colors If You Have STDs

Glow in the dark condoms show STDsHow hasn't someone thought of this before? A trio of genius teens from a London academy just invented glow in the dark condoms that change colors when used with someone who has a sexually transmitted disease.

At the TeenTech awards, students Musaz Nawaz, Daanyaal Ali and Chirag Shah took top prize in the Health category for their smart condoms, called the S.T.EYE, which glow different colors when they came into contact with bacteria and viruses that cause sexually transmitted infections. Their condom would glow green for chlamydia, yellow for herpes, purple for HPV and blue for syphilis. Guess this is one time when a glowstick could end a party, not make them more fun!
glow stick GIF"We created the S.T.EYE as a new way for STI detection to help the future of the next generation," they said in a press release. "We wanted to make something that made detecting harmful STIs safer than ever before, so that people can take immediate action in the privacy of their own homes without the often-scary procedures."

We think this is a great idea, but these condoms are still in concept phase, so make sure to use regular protection in the meantime!

one direction between us behind the scenes
One Direction fans are crazy loyal - and super observant too, tyvm. So, when 1D's new ad (and behind-the-scenes photo shoot video) for their fragrance, 'Between Us,' landed online, fans were overwhelmed with feels. And then the conspiracy theories started flying.

The fandom were quick to spot that the commercial was shot back in November - well before Zayn Malik announced that he was leaving the band.

Ooh. Sleuthy.

Some fans were quick to point out that there were some missing tattoos, too, putting the time stamp at last year. Is this the voice of reason though...did they know that Zayn was quitting soon and left him out of the shoot?

15th Annual Art for Life BenefitThis is turning into the summer of no chill.

Days after Diddy was busted for allegedly assaulting his son's football coach, Rick Ross landed behind bars Wednesday morning in Fayette County, Georgia and was charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault, and aggravated battery, according to TMZ.

The U.S. Marshals Service told the site the incident went down about two weeks ago and involved a confrontation between Rick and a man doing work at one of his homes. According to WSB-TV, Rick and his bodyguard, Nadrian James, allegedly got into a fight with that worker (Jonathan Zamudio), pistol-whipped him and chipped two of his teeth.

Jonathan was allegedly held against his will at a guest house, and reportedly suffered neck and jaw injuries so serious that he's now on a liquid diet. Umm...

The rapper's bodyguard was also taken into custody, and was charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault and aggravated battery too.

This is just Rick's latest run in with the law. Two weeks ago, he was busted for misdemeanor possession of marijuana on June 10.

When Did I Grow Up?

Girl Holding up BraI was very comfortable in my spaghetti-strapped tops and bloomers when suddenly I had to change to v-shaped panties in order to use sanitary napkins when I started to menstruate. It all happened too quickly for me to understand but slowly enough for me to adjust.

So I adjusted, not only to the 24-hour blood flowing from my vagina for the worst five days of the month, but also to the doltish myths. I wondered if the treatment of an untouchable would have been better than mine. It wasn't just physical unease, my menstruation limited me from visiting temples and touching pickles. Maybe when I started menstruating, I grew up.

Suddenly in school, staying hungry became cooler than carry carrying a tiffin box. I still remember how after every period, I rushed to the bathroom to tuck my skirt a little higher. When I started spending maximum time in front of the mirror, I think that's when I grew up.

Or was it when I met him for the first time and could foresee a house with white and blue curtains the moment he said "I love you"? Mistaking him as my forever, was that when I grew up? Or was it when I no longer missed him when he was gone? I still don't know what was more mature. Loving him or letting him go, or maybe now I have grown up because I am able to see my past self as a fool. I wonder, was I a fool when I saw this relationship as the most clever thing to do? Or am I now clever to see us as fools? I don't know.

I don't know when it happened, when suddenly my body started looking more enticing to those lascivious eyes which fell directly on my breasts. When I started feeling unsafe everywhere, from roads to parks, from buses to temples - even my own house wasn't safe in the presence of some unwanted guests. When the only warning we had to follow was, "do not take toffee from a stranger" shifted to "do not wear cut sleeves or shorts out of home, wear a dupatta while traveling in public transport, and beware of a sexual touch from the other gender in a crowded place," was that when I grew up?

My family's list of expectations of "don't dirty your frock while having food" and "greet elders when you meet them" extended to "don't bunk tuitions, score well in boards, get admission in a good college, and the worst of all, maintain decorum in the society which itself lacks accord." Did I grow up when every step I took was examined?

Did I grow up when I started deleting the Internet history from my dad's laptop? Masturbation became a hotly discussed topic among my so-called girlfriends; I had to know about it to be a part of the conversation. The feeling almost similar to dissecting a frog wasn't gross anymore. Because come'on, it gave me a feeling I had never felt before. Sexual pleasures are hard to contempt.

Did I grow up when I started hiding things from mom? Or did all this happen when suddenly waxing didn't pain much, homework wasn't a task to be done anymore, or push-up bras became my favorite? Or maybe when I lifted my eyes with judgement at everyone I saw? Maybe when I lost my innocence, that's when I grew up.

Did I grow up when I started making new friendship bonds or was it when I lost them? Does maturity come when you are ready to love? Or does it happen when you measure love and serve it in fragments according to your needs and based on people whom you are feeding? When I started weighing the quantity of emotions on a steelyard of my consciousness, was that when I grew up?

I have lost people; I have had heartbreaks. I have had love problems and family trust issues, but now I can see myself painting a beautiful picture with the right amount of black being used. Did all those complications help me in choosing the right paint colors for my painting today? I know not, but I am sure my painting today is colorful. Should I thank the ones who've come and gone for handing over new colors?

But I see myself evolving even now - what I was yesterday, I don't wish to be right now. I would like to be better than this in the future. When we are so dynamic, how can growth be constant? Maybe I can never know when I grew up, because I just never stop growing.

What strikes me strangely is that most of the time it's not me who grew, it was society that made me reform, change, develop and evolve into something BETTER.

7 Things I Wish Someone Had Told Me About College

$

tailgating group of excited...Having just endured the higher education graduation season, I decided to sit back and take a good look at the most recent years that have shaped me to become the somewhat functioning adult that I am today. And while I loved every minute of college (OK, most minutes ...finals will always kinda suck), I realized that there were a few things that, had someone actually taken the time to relay them to me, would have made my experience a whole lot easier.

1. Go to at least ONE school event (be it a game, open mic night..whatever).

After four years, if you still don't know the school motto or even what the school mascot looks like, you might raise a few eyebrows. Check out your campus events! Even if it's just for bragging rights.

2. The freshman 15 CAN be avoided.

It takes work. It takes discipline. It takes self-control the size of the Titanic. But if you tell yourself that you don't need Taco Bell everyday, you can actually avoid packing on the pounds. Make yourself a sandwich. Invest in some M&M trail mix. Carry water with you EVERYWHERE. Believe me, your future self will be glad you did.

3. Go to class.

Seriously. Just go. While you might be a little drunk on the freedom of not being forced to go to class every day by your parents, teachers and school administrators, being absent from class is literally the quickest way to make your grade drop WAY down (most professors really believe in the infamous pop quiz). Plus, you paid for it, so you might as well get your money's worth.

4. It is possible to do your homework and still have a social life.

I was told by the big, bad college students before me that college students take one of two paths: the partier with horrible grades or the studious student with absolutely no friends or social life. This could not have have been more wrong. Despite what I'd been told, most professors don't actually drown you in homework (someone would actually have to grade all of that), and having friends doesn't actually require you to give up your academic responsibilities (they're in college too, remember?).

5. Drinking isn't a requirement during ANY social event in college.
This isn't a '90s sitcom. No one is going to pressure you to pick up a beer during a college party or make fun of you if you don't. If they do, chances are they weren't actually invited. Be free to say no if you don't want to indulge. People are attracted to self-confidence.

6. Know where you are going ahead of time (being late is NOT fun).
The day before your first day of class, figure out where your classes are and how to get to them. You really don't want to be the new kid who awkwardly interrupts the "welcome to my class" speech with hundreds of eyes staring at you, all because it took you an extra 15 minutes to find the right building.

7. Know how you are going to pay for college.
You don't know it now, but scholarships run out, and loans pile up. Plan out your four-year tuition. Sign up for every grant and scholarship that you are eligible for (the odd essay sometimes needed to apply will be worth it, trust me). This will prevent you from crying into your empty wallet in the future or having to work three part-time jobs long after you've received the diploma to pay off loans.

College is a great experience that should be had by anyone that wants it. It's a great gateway into the world of adulthood, new relationships and even a broader understanding of the world. But, like all great experiences, it can be tricky to navigate. Hopefully, with a few of these simple rules, it'll be a lot easier for all of you.

Dear America: Let's Talk About Caitlyn, Charleston and Rachel

Rihanna America gif
Dear America,

I write this because, while I love this incredible country that I live in, I feel like we have gotten a little off. A Confederate flag. A word. A term. A feeling. An opinion. These are the things that we focus on. These are the things that we see. Our word vs. their word. Our kind vs. their kind. Our wrong vs. their wrong. Our right vs. theirs. These are things that we have seen on our screens and newsfeeds as well as heard in our community and from our government for years. These are the only things that we as a society let ourselves see, hear and know.

We tell ourselves that "different" is a problem, that having a problem with different is a problem, that a solution must be found - but we don't search for it. We campaign on our Twitter accounts with hashtags spouting about forefathers who we haven't even taken the time to research or know, write our scalding Facebook posts, and shake our heads at the state of society, yet we fill up our days binging on Netflix or YouTube, catching up on the latest celebrity breakup or DIY tutorial.

While I, myself, have spent many days watching more episodes of Friends in one sitting than is probably healthy and consider YouTube part of my daily routine, I find myself today, thinking. Thinking about Charleston, Rachel, Caitlyn, Ferguson, Baltimore, Sandy Hook. I find myself thinking about us. All of us, and I can't help but think that we can do better.

We can do better than hashtags. We can do better than reposts. We can do better than caring about one another long enough to post online about it, and then turning to pick up the remote. Can't we? Don't we, as a society, have that power? To make change? Didn't one letter from Taylor Swift change the dynamic between multi-billion dollar companies and musicians forever - and isn't she (even with her money and fame) one of us? Didn't America come together time and time again to help rebuild communities struck by natural disasters? (I know we did; my home was one helped.) Don't we have the power to make or break the career of a movie, album or artist, simply through what we decide to buy, listen to and see?

Because this is what I see.

I see Rachel Dolezal. In our small corners of the world, it is our responsibility as human beings to make sure that everyone we come into contact with knows that it's who they are that's enough to make a difference.

I see Caitlyn and the fact that people in our communities need to be told that they are loved, seen and heard every day.

I see Charleston, Ferguson, Baltimore, Sandy Hook and the fact that if we, as a society, don't do more than sit behind our computers all day and critique one another's political correctness, nothing will change. Lives, our lives, will continue to be lost. Our tears will continue to be shed. And the word "enough" will never be more than just a word. Because right now, from what I see, It - all of it - is enough. It's more than enough. And we have the power to make it so together. We just have to open up our eyes and choose to see. No more excuses; no more words. Open your eyes, America, and see.

With all of the love in the world,
Raven

Disney poop dessertsWe usually love anything chocolate, but we may have to draw the line at this new dessert being served at Disney World that resembles poop. Zuri's Sweets Shop, a retailer at the Florida theme park's Animal Kingdom, is selling these treats inspired by animal droppings.

You can order giraffe, elephant, hippo or cotton-top tamarin dung and get this: the park's animal handlers worked with the pastry chefs to make sure these poop treats looked like the real deal. Brave visitors sampling the goods have been sharing pics of their snacks on social media. It costs $3.99 a pop to pretend you're eating animal crap, and the desserts have actually gotten rave reviews from some people so far. We think we'll pass!

Guess what? She looks totally gorg no matter what the hair style. Last month she tried out a bun and we love, love, loved it. Now she's taking things shorter and adding a little fringe with what she calls "the worst wigs ever."

It really changes up her look so much with the bangs, doesn't it (see how unrecognizable Anna Kendrick looks with bangs, it'll blow your mind)?

Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson Give Larry Shippers the Feels at Recent Concert

Louis tomlinson and Harry Styles Larry feels Sweden concert videoDoes this prove that Larry is real? At the recent One Direction concert in Sweden, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson got people talking - first, with a cute moment the two shared, and then with a very interesting flag Harry draped over his shoulders.

Watch as Louis tries to sail a balloon over to Harry while the guys perform - um, yeah. The smiles between the two of them? We can't even.
It's the flag bit that really sent the fandom over the edge though, with the trending hashtag #LARRYISCOMINGBACK taking off like wildfire after Harry grabbed a Swedish flag from the audience and put it around him. He didn't, however, notice that Louis' love-filled tweet: "Always in my heart @Harry_Styles. Yours sincerely, Louis" was printed on the other side. Who's the clever fan who dreamed that one up? We'd love to shake their hand.

Is any of this proof that Larry is real though? For Larry shippers, it's a step in the right direction. For the non-shippers, it's just great to see Harry and Louis interacting as friends again.

Is this real life?

Seriously, we can't figure out what just happened in that quick two minutes that a makeup artist FULLY transformed herself from herself (obvs) to Ruby Rose. Like, it literally doesn't even compute in our brains because it was that insane.

Of course, Kandee Johnson's transition took a lot longer than the 1 minute and 46 seconds that she shared with us, but we really wish she would have shown more of it, because it was SO good. And she didn't pause long enough on the final product. We wanted some serious time to admire her crazy good skills!

We can't help but wonder what the Orange Is the New Black star thinks of the whole thing. That would be so weird to see someone who looks EXACTLY like you. Then again, maybe she's used to it, because she's literally #Twinning with Justin Bieber.

If you want to see more of Kandee's amazing work, including a video where she transforms herself into Barbie (trust us, it's just as impressive!) check out her YouTube page.

Calvin Harris and Taylor SwiftThese two are purrfect for each other! We aren't talking about Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris, either. We are talking about him and Tay's pet cat Meredith, actually.

We officially know who got the lucky job of watching at least one of Taylor's kittens while she's on the road for her 1989 tour. Calvin posted an adorable video of Mer lapping water in slow motion, and it basically proves he's the guy Tay's been dreaming of.

A video posted by Calvin Harris (@calvinharris) on

In it, Meredith quenches her thirst from a running water faucet, avoiding spills and keeping her coat nice and clean. There's no sight of T-Swift's other cat, Olivia Benson, though. Maybe Cal can only handle one kitty at a time?

This isn't the only cute thing Calvin's done for Tay lately. When she ripped Apple a new one the other day, he boasted about his girl on Twitter shortly after.
We know, we know. #RelationshipGoals

Did Kacey Musgraves Just Drop a Taylor Swift Diss Track?

Taylor Swift The 1989 World Tour Live In ManchesterTaylor Swift just got a dose of her own medicine. Country singer Kacey Musgraves just dropped a new album, and everyone is talking about one particular song...a T-Swift diss track. Whoa, right?! Doesn't everyone love Tay Tay?

Kacey released her new album Pageant Material yesterday, and while that's exciting news in itself, it's her track "Good Ol' Boys Club" on the album, that's getting all the attention. We're pretty sure there's a Taylor-dig in the song, and Kacey even kind of hinted that it was going down a few months ago.
Kacey MusgravesThe line in question? "Another gear in a big machine don't sound like fun to me," she sings. Um, is that an obvious reference to Tay's Big Machine record label?

Oh, and then there's this: "Favors for friends will get you in and get you far, shouldn't be about who it is you know, but about how good you are."

Oh, crap. Did she just basically say that Tay wouldn't let her in her crew?

Kacey won't talk about the diss directly, but has hinted to it in a recent interview with Fader.

"I'm talking about a lot of different people...any industry has its shoo-ins and people that get in because they know somebody, or their dad worked here, whatever. But, yeah, there is a wink," she said.

Dad worked there? We all know T-Swift's pops invested big bucks into Big Machine when she was first starting off. B-u-r-n.

We aren't sure what the bad blood is here, but with the way these two get revenge on peeps who piss them off, we're staying out of this one. This could get ugly...Katy Perry-style!

NYCLU Taking Action to Change How Transgender Students are Treated in Schools

$
0
0
students in class"Instead of supporting children, schools are sometimes magnifying the problem," NYCLU Executive Director Donna Lieberman told reporters Wednesday, while discussing the harassment transgender students have faced in New York schools.

She said the New York Department of Education has been "devastatingly silent," when it comes to that harassment, saying, "75 percent of transgender students have reported being harassed in the last year. Two out of three report feeling unsafe, many have avoided going to school altogether."

The discussion was part of the NYCLU's report, Dignity For All? Discrimination Against Transgender and Gender Nonconforming Students in New York State, released Wednesday, revealing the discrimination and harassment faced by transgender and gender nonconforming youth in New York public schools.

Five years ago, The Dignity for All Students Act was passed, designed to protect all public school students from bullying and harassment. It "explicitly prohibits discrimination based on actual or perceived gender, gender identity and gender discrimination," but there have been many complications when it comes to how educators are enforcing the act for transgender students. The Dignity for All? report is based on stories of harassment trans students have faced, with parents and trans youth giving the media a glimpse of those stories during the discussion. All of them were heartbreaking.

A mother named Marisa, who is mom to a 6-year-old transgender girl named Jay in New York City, said her daughter had been beaten and bullied relentlessly in school, and administrators haven't done anything about it. "Since kindergarten, my daughter has been harassed," she said.

"My daughter was kicked, stepped on, her hair was pulled, all while they yelled she was a boy," she continued. Marisa was worried about how the bullying would impact her daughter's self esteem in the future, and what else she didn't know about the torment she's faced. "The bullying she's experiencing should be taken seriously by the school...I don't know how bad it has to get for the school to do something about it."

Meanwhile, all of the transgender kids that spoke, like 18-year-old Locke, just wanted to be respected for who they are. Locke doesn't want to be called by his biological name at school or made to use women's bathrooms. He wants to be fully recognized as the person he is with no questions behind it.

Sixth grader Casey, 11, wants the same. "I can't use the bathroom with other girls," she said. "It makes me feel like I'm a freak and I don't belong...I'm speaking out and standing up for myself. I would like other transgender students to know that they are not alone."
And why shouldn't they be allowed to have that? If there is an act that exists called 'Dignity for All' designed to protect all students from bullying and harassment, every student should receive that protection, and that included trans students.

To help change what trans students are going through, the NYCLU's report includes a model policy for school districts to follow to make sure that all students are respected and nurtured regardless of their gender identity or expression.

In it, they recommended the State Education Department make it the responsibility of all schools to respect the preferred names and gender pronouns of students, and provide all students with access to restrooms and locker rooms that correspond with their gender, among other things.
