Apparently, Blake Lively has better things to do than text Aziz Ansari back.At least that was the case back in April 2011, when the mom-to-be and Aziz exchanged phone numbers at an event. And even though three years have passed, the Parks and Recreation star couldn't help but tell Howard Stern about the text diss during his appearance on the radio show Monday, cracking jokes about what went down while he was at it.
"I was at some event sometime and I had heard Blake Lively was a fan," Aziz said. "I said, 'hello,' and, we talked for a little while, and she was really nice, and she was really into food, and I'm really into food, and so we started talking about that and about stuff, and we exchanged phone numbers."
After that meet-up, Aziz sent Blake a friendly text, writing, "Hey, it's Aziz. The animal dinners are over now, unfortunately, but I will show you photos from when I went. It was very tasty. Are you going to the Met Ball?"
And...no response. Still, the actor didn't take offense and tried to make conversation when he saw her a couple of days later at the high fashion event. "I see her there, I'm like, 'Hey, it's me,'" he continued. "And she's bopping around to all these parties and she's with Karl Lagerfeld...so, [later] I'm texting her to see where she's at - this is about 11 o'clock that night - and I text her again and say, 'Hey, it's Aziz. Please tell Karl he needs to call me, it's been too long since we bro'd out.'"
And...no response again. Later though, Aziz saw Blake again, and he sent another message late at night afterwards saying, "I'm going to the Boom Boom Room for that afterparty. Hopefully this is your number? Either way, good seeing you."Finally, she responded, saying, "Maybe I'll see you. So weird, Karl was just saying how bummed he was to miss you."
Needless to say, Aziz was pumped that she responded. So, he decided to keep their text exchange going, sending a message the next day that said, "I feel so bad you had to fly to North Carolina after that party, it must've been rough. Karl and I partied at Boom Boom until 7 a.m., got tacos the next day after and just had a beautiful spa day. Next time we are in the same city, let's eat delicious food."
And...no response. So, Aziz did what any normal guy would do...he sent a typical reach out text months later, writing, "Happy Holidays."
"I don't know why I sent this," he said to Howard with a laugh. And even though Blake still hasn't responded three years later (and is now married to Ryan Reynolds with a baby on the way), Aziz decided to give it one more shot and text her live on the air writing, "Read these messages on Howard. Hope that's cool. Doubt you'll respond to this."
We're guessing she didn't say either way.
