Raven-Symone has had it with the labels.

In an interview with Oprah Winfrey on the media mogul's Where Are They Now?, the actress spoke candidly about her sexuality, saying she is in a relationship with a woman, but doesn't want to be called "gay."

The former That's So Raven star first sparked buzz back in August 2013 about her sexuality, when she cheered for the legalization of gay marriage, tweeting, "I can finally get married! Yay government! So proud of you." Up until that point, there were rumors that she was dating America's Next Top Model alum AzMarie Livingston.

When Oprah asked if that was her way of coming out, Raven said, "That was my way of saying I'm proud of the country, but I will say I'm in an amazing, happy relationship with my partner, a woman. On the other side, my mother and people in my family, they've taught me to keep my personal life to myself as much as possible, so I try my best to hold the fence where I can, but I am proud to be who I am and what I am."

"I don't need a categorizing statement for it," she continued when Oprah asked if she even had words at the time for what that meant. "I don't want to be labeled gay," she continued. "I want to be labeled a human who loves humans. I'm tired of being labeled...I'm an American. I'm not an African American."

"Oh girl, don't set the Twitter on fire. What did you just say?," Oprah responded with a laugh. "I don't know where my roots go to," Raven added. "I don't know what country in Africa I'm from, but I do know I have roots in Louisiana. I'm an American, and that's a colorless person. We are all people. I have lots of things running through my veins. I connect with each culture."

When asked to further explain herself, Raven said, "I don't label myself. What I really mean by that is I'm an American. I have darker skin, I have a nice, interesting grade of hair, I connect with black, I connect with Indian, I connect with Asian, I connect each culture. I personally feel that way."
