After news of Michael Phelps' DUI arrest surfaced last week, the decorated Olympian immediately took to Twitter to extend an apology.
The 29-year-old's arrest in Maryland was his second DUI after he plead guilty to the same charge in November 2004.
In an interview with Us Weekly, Michael reiterated his remorse, saying he takes full responsibility for his actions. Judging by this latest news, it sounds like he's taking the first step to that end in trying to ensure that it never happens again.
This morning on Twitter, the swimmer shared the following messages:
We wish him all the best as he embarks upon this journey.
