After giving birth to a baby girl Friday in New York, the new mom posted on Facebook and Twitter, "At 7:03 PM on September 26th, we finally met Charlotte. We're in love."
"Marc and I are full of love, awe and gratitude as we celebrate the birth of our daughter, Charlotte Clinton Mezvinsky," she later continued, posting a photo of herself holding her daughter as her husband Marc Mezvinsky stood beside them.
Former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told CNN in a statement they feel "blessed, grateful and so happy to be the grandparents of a beautiful girl."
"Chelsea is well and glowing," the Clintons continued. "Marc is bursting with pride. Charlotte's life is off to a good start."
The couple waited until the baby was born to find out whether they were having a boy or girl. "There are so few mysteries in life...in which any answer is a happy one," Chelsea previously told CNN's Fareed Zakaria about why they wanted to wait.
Marc and Chelsea tied the knot in 2010 and announced that they were expecting their first child in April.
Congrats to the couple!
