In a profile with W, he totally disses Divergent while explaining why he took a recent role in Whiplash.
"When I first read Whiplash, I was feeling dead inside," the actor, who was filming Divergent in Chicago at the time, explains. "I didn't have an interesting part, and I'd taken the film for business reasons: It was the first movie I'd done that was going to have an international audience."
"I called my agent and said, 'This sucks.' He told me about Whiplash," Miles concludes.
Needless to say, bad-mouthing a hit movie franchise you're a part of isn't always the best career move, so Miles and his team are now trying to spin the quotes. The actor took to Twitter to do some damage control:
I've never done a movie for "business" reasons. I'm proud to be a part of Divergent franchise and love all of Peter's Princesses
