We're used to seeing Rihanna acting sweet or sassy but never sad!In a recent, sit-down interview with Oprah, Rihanna opened up about her relationship with Chris Brown and that dreadful night.
In the clip above, you can see tears rolling down her face when she talks about him hurting and betraying her.
"I lost my best friend, everything I knew switched, switched in a night and I couldn't control that...It was a weird, confusing space to be in, because as angry as I was, as angry and hurt and betrayed, I just felt like he made that mistake because he needed help ... and who's going to help him?"
In 2009, Rihanna and Chris got into an argument before attending a pre-Grammy party, after she found texts on his phone from another girl. Brown got angry over the whole thing and horribly beat Rihanna. He was arrested and charged with felony assault.
He faced major legal and professional consequences for his actions. Not only did Rihanna leave him but he lost many fans, endorsements and respect. It's easy to say that Chris' career took quite a tumble after his arrest and probably won't ever get back to where it was or could've been.
After Brown pled guilty to felony assault, he was sentenced to five years probation and was ordered to stay away from Rihanna. The restraining has since been lifted and there have been rumors that the two of them are "seeing" each other again.
It's nice to finally hear her side of the story, but it also makes us sad to see that she's still so hurt over the entire thing. What do you think after seeing her talk about it? Do you think she did the right thing? Do you think she wanted to leave him? Let us know!
