Rumors swirled yesterday after a source told The Hollywood Reporter that Kristen was out, and instead the focus of the sequel would be on Chris Hemsworth's character.
"Kristen Stewart will not be invited to return if the follow-up goes forward," THR reported.
A Universal spokeswoman, however, commented, "The studio is currently exploring options to continue the franchise."
GossipCop.com reports that buzz about Kristen getting canned from the SWATH sequel is not true, with a "well-placed insider" telling the site that the THR story is "inaccurate."
The source adds that "there isn't a script" yet, so of course, it's too soon to know which actors will be involved in a sequel.
Seems to be the case of "another day, another rumor" when it comes to Kristen and Robert Pattinson these days.
UPDATE: A rep for Universal Pictures released the following statement to E! News: "We are extremely proud of Snow White and the Huntsman and we're currently exploring all options to continue the franchise. Any reports that Kristen Stewart has been dropped are false."
It's important to note that Kristen was not contractually obligated to do a sequel anyway.
