11 days after a 12-year-old boy reportedly went missing, he was found alive in the oddest place.

When his father, Charlie Bothuell IV, appeared on Nancy Grace Wednesday evening to discuss his son's case, Nancy hit him with the news that his son had been found...in his own basement. "What?....what?...," Charlie said as he struggled to respond and catch his breath.

"How could your son be alive in your basement?," Nancy asked him. "I have no ideal...I checked my basement, the FBI checked my basement, my wife checked my basement, Detroit police checked my basement...I've been down there several times," Charlie replied.

"I don't understand why you guys reported him missing when all of our viewers have been looking for him," Nancy said, to which he replied, "We've been on the lookout for him, we searched that house repeatedly...they brought dogs."

When Nancy asked if he had checked his cell phone, Charlie said it died on him on his way to the studio.

According to HLN, police found the boy - also named Charlie Bouthuell - in the corner of the basement alive Wednesday night. Detroit Police Sgt. Michael Woody told CNN he didn't appear "shocked or scared," nor did it seem like he was restrained or held captive. The boy also had cereal, soda, chicken and other food and drink in the area, but police said it didn't look like he had been down there the whole time.

Authorities have not ruled out child abuse charges and said that the evidence has lead them to believe that something was "afoul" with the situation. They also found bloody clothing in the home.

Although the boy did give a statement to police, authorities have not released what he said to them. He is currently in his biological mother's custody.
