If you haven't heard of Wallpaper. (yes, there's a period at the end), then you haven't heard the "F****** Best Song Everrr," his latest hit that has become huge overnight.Ricky Reed, the front man for Wallpaper., stopped by our studios to tell us about his latest EP, playing Coachella, and all things Wallpaper. Ricky is quite the presence in a room.
"I've never really had a method per se to get noticed, I just get noticed."
Coming from Oakland, CA, Ricky Reed names Digital Underground, Sly and the Family Stone, and many other Bay Area acts as major influences. But he admitted it was a girl who helped him find his love of music.
"I first decided to go into music when my junior high girlfriend was giving me gruff, and I realized I had to learn how to play a Blink 182 song on the guitar to win her love back."
We also asked about what a Wallpaper. concert is like, and he described it as an "intense experience."
"Do not come to one of my shows in a mini skirt or high heels; you're gonna get your ass kicked."
Wallpaper. was recently signed to Epic records, and Ricky is aiming to have a full album released in the fall. In the meantime, enjoying jamming out to his singles "#STUPiDFACEDDD" AND"F****** Best Song Everrr."
