Teen Savvy Blog: Celebrity Kids In Fashion

When Lauryn Hill and Rohan Marley's daughter Selah appeared in her very own Teen Vogue spread early last year, she turned heads with her striking looks and resemblance to her mother.

The 13-year-old not only aspires to be a model, following the footsteps of her legendary mother and Grandfather Bob Marley, singing is also something she once tried her hand in. With modeling being her first choice Marley told Teen Vogue, "I was in a hotel with my dad, and I was just joking around and said. 'Oh yeah, Daddy, I want to model.' I don't know, the camera is just fun."

As the face of his dads Sean John Spring/Summer 2012 collection, Diddy's 14-year-old son Christian Combs has something in common with Selah, a love for the camera. In his new fashion campaign the energetic teen strikes fun, mid-air poses gleaming with a smile reminiscent of his fathers. This makes the second time that Christian has worked with his father's Sean John clothing collection following in the footsteps of many celebrities who previously modeled for the line including rapper Nelly and singer Cassie.

Then there's teen fashionistas Kylie and Kendall Jenner, who are now officially west coast fashion contributors for Seventeen Magazine. Their monthly column will be titled Kendall & Kylie's Fashion Journal equipped with helpful fashion tips, tools and tricks. Their premier column is set to be featured in the June/July issue of Seventeen.

"People always ask us for fashion and beauty tips, and now we can share them directly with readers. It's really exciting for us!" the 14 and 16 year old sibling duo expressed in a joint statement. The Jenners will also have their own web series posted to the Seventeen website twice a month. Similar to their fashion advice column the web series will include videos that feature fun fashion tips and secrets given by the girls themselves.

Most people who have famous parents or siblings chose to take the same route as those who inspired them. Selah Marley, Christian Combs, Kylie and Kendall Jenner all share the same love for fashion regardless of the backgrounds of their famous families. These stars in the making are proving that being behind the scenes can be just as fulfilling as being in front of the camera.
