Max Joseph and Nev Schulman from MTV's very own 'Catfish' stopped by our studios and told us about the show and even gave us some online dating tips!MTV is home to a lot of our favorite TV shows, including Teen Wolf, Awkward and most recently, Catfish.Max Joseph and Nev Schulman, the creators of the show came by to chat with us about Catfish, how to avoid meeting the wrong people online and what the most rewarding parts of their jobs are.
"We actually don't choose the stories. We both like not knowing anything," said Nev. "So that our experience is authentic and genuine." Max added, "Every episode just kind of baffles us and manages somehow to exceed our expectations in terms of what is possible in this world."
As the creators of a show that helps people navigate the truths and lies inherent in online dating, the guys gave us some tips. "If you're isolated or lonely, just be careful when you go online," said Nev. "Manage your expectations," Max told us. "If you think you're dating a model, you're probably not."
We imagine that Max and Nev's jobs aren't always fun, but there is one big reward: "Seeing what people have gone on to do after coming out as a catfish," said Max. "One of our catfish from season 1 lost over 200 pounds and moved out to LA to follow his dreams!"
Don't forget to catch season 2 of Catfish on Tuesday, June 25.
