The news of his death broke Saturday when Demi's sister tweeted that he had passed.
"Rest in peace daddy i love you.." she tweeted.
Demi hasn't posted anything on her social websites yet nor has she commented about the situation.
Patrick was reportedly diagnosed with cancer a few years ago and hadn't seen Demi in awhile because of her busy schedule. There's talk she wasn't involved in his life that much anymore because he squealed to the media when she was put into rehab a few years ago.
She's very close to her step-dad instead and even calls him her father. Although they had their issues, we're sure she's still feeling super sad over her real dad's death. We send her and her family our condolences.
