Harry Connick Jr. performed and guest judged on American Idol last night, and he says he's in talks to join the judging panel full-time!"You know, they kinda wanted to know if I would be interested in it," the singer told E! News exclusively backstage. "It's a fun show. It's been talked about before, who knows what'll happen in the future."
The contestants seemed to respond well to Harry's honesty and down-to-earth personality as he guest mentored them. As for what he thinks it takes to make a good judge?
"I think you need to be completely honest, and I think you need to be diplomatic," he explained. "I think there's no reason to be mean, but it is called being a 'judge.' You have to judge. That's what you do."
No word from Nicki Minaj yet on how she'd feel about adding Harry as a judge, but we already heard her thoughts on bringing back Jennifer Lopez yesterday.
Do you think Harry would be good on Idol?
