Blake Shelton has said that he's thrilled to have Sheryl Crow as his team's mentor on The Voice, but apparently she wasn't his first choice.
Blake actually wanted his wife, Miranda Lambert, to be the team's mentor. The producers loved the idea, too, but Miranda ultimately turned down Blake's proposal saying that she couldn't do it because it conflicted with her tour schedule.
However, a source tells RadarOnline that there is a lot more to the story...
"Miranda's people say she could have easily changed her touring schedule to accommodate mentoring on The Voice," they said. "But she was getting Blake back for his out-of-control flirting - it's the ultimate brush-off."
They also said that Miranda is trying to give her husband a taste of his own medicine by flirting with some sexy singles while on tour, knowing that it would eventually get back to Blake.
The country couple has been in the tabloids a lot lately with rumors swirling that Blake is cheating, and their marriage is on the rocks, but Miranda has said in interviews that "divorce is not an option," although a lot of other now-divorced couples have said the same thing.
Do you think Blake and Miranda's relationship is on the rocks?
