The YouTube-exclusive series follows all of the classic 'FRED' characters, with Lucas voicing Fred, Jake Weary, Taryn Southern and Loraine Newman. "It's basically the 'Fred' classic videos in cartoon form," the Nebraska native tells Cambio exclusively. "It's awesome because in cartoon format the possibilities of what Fred can do are almost endless."
'FRED Gets Adopted,' the first episode of the series, follows Fred as he tries to get adopted by Judy's parents. Naturally, things don't go as planned. The wacky clip shows the character in a whole new way, and Lucas couldn't be more excited.
"It's amazing how many different formats Fred has been translated into," he says. "We've done the videos, two movies, an album, a joke book, and now an animated series. I'm just excited to see how the fans react to the animation."
The first season of 'It's Fred' contains nine episodes, with a new one debuting each Thursday. While Lucas waits to find out what his fans think of his animated series, he already has his sights set on his next project. "I'm filming a pilot for Nickelodeon in early 2012 that revolves around a new character," he reveals. "I'm really excited for that one!"
