December is winding down and we're looking forward to big things in the New Year. Yes, Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber will continue to rule the world, but check out who made our list of 2012's next big stars! Our picks aren't newcomers by any means, but based on their 2011s, their 2012s are poised to be amazing.

Zooey Deschanel had a really good year. Despite news of her split from her husband, Death Cab For Cutie front man Ben Gibbard, Zooey proved to be a triple threat in 2011. She continued to make beautiful music with bandmate M. Ward as She and Him (they released a well-received holiday album this year), she achieved media mogul status with the successful launch of HelloGiggles with her friends Sophia Rossi and Molly McAleer and her new sitcom New Girl was a huge hit for FOX and got picked up for a full season going into 2012.

Honorable mention: Look to one of Chris' other Glee costars to make major waves in 2012. Dianna Agron is taking a page from Zooey's book and launching her own website, You, Me And Charlie.

Josh Hutcherson, Jennifer Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth scored the roles of a lifetime in 2011 when they landed parts in March 2012's The Hunger Games, the film adaptation of Suzanne Collin's wildly successful dystopian trilogy where teens battle to the death in a post-democracy America where food is scarce. Jennifer Lopez made the comeback of the year in 2011 and is well-positioned to pretty much control the world in 2012. She's returning to American Idol and has several new shows of her own in the works, one of which will be debuting here on Cambio.
Amy Heidemann and Nick Noonan of Karmin went viral this year with a cover of Chris Brown's Look At Me Now that landed them 48 million YouTube views, an appearance on Ellen, a record deal and their first official music video.

One Direction is definitely heading in the right direction. The band, comprised of Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson was formed on the UK version of The X Factor. They came in third on the competition, but not before garnering a massive British fanbase of their own. The group is planning a U.S. invasion in 2012 when they join Big Time Rush on their national tour.
Check out their 'Gotta Be You' music video for more on these well-dressed dreamy teen Brits. Their debut album, Up All Night, will be released in the U.S. in early 2012.

Honorable mention: Another member of the 1 million Twitter followers club and the star of Victorious, Ariana's pal Victoria Justice will branch out in 2012 to do much more of her own music in addition to what she records for the show. Trust us when we say, this girl is just getting started.

Nick Jonas had a successful South American tour in 2011, but his 2012 is action packed. He'll appear in NBC's new musical drama Smash about a Broadway play getting green lit and, speaking of Broadway, Nick is heading to NYC to take over for Daniel Radcliffe and Darren Criss as J. Pierpont Finch in How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying beginning in January. And maybe he and his brothers will finally get around to that Jonas Brothers reunion.
Honorable mention: Nick's brother Kevin Jonas will step behind the camera in 2012 to direct a short film alongside Kellan Lutz, Troian Bellisario and Nina Dobrev as part of the new Killer Digital series premiering on Cambio next year.

Kendall Jenner could have easily had a low-key 2011, what with her sister Kim's wedding and divorce and other sister Kourtney's pregnancy. But the teen went full steam ahead, continuing her modeling career, helping out with Meals On Wheels, cheerleading and contributing a blog entry for Huffington Post High School encouraging other teens to find worthwhile after-school activities and be passionate about their endeavors. Who knows what Kendall and sister Kylie will be up to in 2012, we just know we can't wait to keep up with them more.
Check out our exclusive interview with Kendall earlier this year about her charity work with Meals On Wheels and her cheerleading below.
