Now that award season is in full swing, and we've begun honoring the best of the best in film, we can't help but start to get excited about some new movies on the horizon. Although it wasn't easy, we've narrowed down our list to three movies we're psyched to see over the next few months!

The Iron Lady (in theaters now)

This month, we're all about The Iron Lady! This buzzed about movie stars award winning actress Meryl Streep, who takes on the role of Margaret Thatcher, the first woman prime minister of the United Kingdom. Streep already took home the Golden Globe for Best Actress for her portrayal of Thatcher, and it's said to be a favorite to win at the Oscars next month. We think The Iron Lady is definitely one worth catching!

Plot: The Iron Lady is a surprising and intimate portrait of Margaret Thatcher, the first and only female Prime Minister of The United Kingdom. One of the 20th century's most famous and influential women, Thatcher came from nowhere to smash through barriers of gender and class to be heard in a male dominated world.

Chronicle (February 3, 2012)

In February, we'll be checking out the sci-fi flick, Chronicle, which stars Dane DeHaan, Michael B. Jordan, Alex Russell, and Michael Kelly. The film's shaky cam style of cinematography is reminiscent of Cloverfield and Paranormal Activity. If you ask us, this super-power film looks totally scary, so we'll probably have to take in an early showing.

Plot: Three high school students make an incredible discovery, leading to their developing uncanny powers beyond their understanding. As they learn to control their abilities and use them to their advantage, their lives start to spin out of control, and their darker sides begin to take over.

The Hunger Games (March 23, 2012)

March is all about the highly anticipated movie, The Hunger Games, based on Suzanne Collins' best-selling novel, and starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson & Liam Hemsworth (Miley Cyrus's BF http://www.bff.tv/miley-vanessa-young-hollywood-shows-major-pda/). The franchise is already being compared by some to the Twilight series, though we we're not sure how Twi-hard fans feel about drawing any links between their beloved romantic saga and the upcoming action adventure film. Either way, it's at the top of our must-see list!

Plot: Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. Part twisted entertainment, part government intimidation tactic, the Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which "Tributes" must fight with one another until one survivor remains.
