Taylor Swift was reportedly offered the role of Eponine in the upcoming feature film adaptation of 'Les Miserables,' but now it's confirmed that British actress Samantha Barks will be playing the part.The news was announced by the movie's producer, Cameron Mackintosh, on the official 'Les Miserables' Twitter page on Wednesday. "Big news: @SamanthaBarks will be Eponine in the Mis film! Mr Mackintosh knows how to pull off a coup de theatre, eh?"
In 2010, Samantha starred as Eponine in the London production of 'Les Miserables,' and reprised the role alongside Nick Jonas in the 25th anniversary concert at the O2 Arena last year. The Tom Hooper-directed film will mark the 21-year-old's movie debut.
Taylor was reportedly being considered for the role of Eponine along with Lea Michele, Scarlett Johansson and Evan Rachel Wood. The country star has not yet made any remarks about the casting.
