Liam Payne vs. Empire State Building Security: Liam Apologizes

The other night, One Direction's Liam Payne tweeted his disappointment with the Empire State Building security during a recent visit.

Something wasn't quite up to Liam's standards, and it mostly boiled down to manners, as he tweeted: "Just been to the Empire State Building had a great time except...The security detail in particular the senior security supervisor was arrogant, unproffesional and extreamly disrespectful to my family @EmpireStateBldg #TheresAlwaysTimeForManors [sic]."

The folks at the Empire State Building fired back with a tweet that said: "@Real_Liam_Payne: Bad behaviour not accepted at ESB. No, our security does not know who you are, and does not care."

In a confusing turn, Liam did a little backtracking on the whole complain-y thing and sent out a tweet of apology, writing: "Seems there was a bit of a mix up when I was at the empire state. Its all good. Sorry for confusion looking fwd to next timeeeee!"

He added, "I would like to formally apologise to the Empire State Building security team and its owners for our misunderstanding the other night...I didn't mean to cause anyone any problems and hope that I can come back again for a visit again in the future :)"

So...wow. What exactly happened at the NYC landmark? It sounds like Liam was initially pretty bothered by the security folks, which maybe was a legitimate complaint--but then he apologized?

Hmm. What kind of "bad behavior" wasn't the Empire State Building security tolerating from Mr. Payne and his guests?
