reading on the beachWe all have to agree that summer is the most wonderful time of the year (after the holidays). Summer contains the months when we finally have time for ourselves. You can do anything - from going to the pool and the beach to going bowling with your friends (or bae). It doesn't really matter if you go on vacation or stay-cation. You gotta make summer count, and what better way to do it than enjoying some books?
Here are some books that will keep you hooked for the entire summer!

1. #GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso

Everybody knows about Nasty Gal, a clothing store that has taken the world by storm. You
can get the trendiest pieces and some unique finds, too. What's not so known is how the company itself came together and how her CEO and proud founder, Sophia Amoruso, made a name for herself. This book will make you go after your dreams, and it will give you some amazing advice. It's a must for this summer.

2. Paper Towns by John Green
John Green has become crazy famous since his book The Fault In Our Stars was published. We all know how that masterpiece of a book made it to the big screen and gave us all the feels. This book is quite different though. It talks about a boy called Quentin and her neighbor Margo Roth Spiegelman. There's probably not much to explain about this book since the movie is in theaters as we speak, so if you already saw the movie, you should definitely give this book a go! If you haven't seen the movie yet, you will enjoy it more.

3. Looking for Alaska by John Green
Oh, the joy. Another John Green book, and this one is by far my favorite. I really don't want to get much into this book because I don't want to spoil anything for you. If you already read this freaking beauty of a book, you know what I'm talking about (ahh, so many feels). If you haven't read it yet, please do because in my opinion, this is one of the best books of our generation. You will love it.

4. Were'd You Go Bernadette by Maria Semple

I have heard of this book so many times that I just had to see for myself what was all the buzz about. I went ahead and downloaded the free sample from iBooks, and I just couldn't out this book down. It's a perfect summer read, hands down.

5. After by Anna Todd
I haven't read this one yet but it's on my list. After was originally a fanfic inspired by the one and only, Harry Edward Styles. Yes, you heard that right. Do you need any more reasons to give this book a chance? (We're talking about Harry here, hello!) Besides, our fellow directioner and best-selling author wrote an entire series of books like this one, so if you've been bored this summer, that is about to change.

6. To All The Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han
I just started reading this little gem because a friend of mine told me it was such a great book, and trust me, she knows about great books. It talks about Lara Jean, her older sister Margot who is going to study college abroad and her little sister Kitty. So far, so good. I highly recommed this book as a summer read.

7. Anna and The French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
I've wanted to get my hands on this one for two summers now, but for one reason or another, I haven't had the time, so I think it's about time I get on with it! I know what they say - don't judge a book by its cover - but the cover of this book is pretty darn cute. And the history takes place on the beautiful city of Paris. Why wouldn't everyone want read this book?

8. Breakfast at Tiffany's by Truman Capote

I'm the kind of girl who ALWAYS has to read the book before watching the movie. You could say that's pretty much my golden rule, but with this classic, things were a little different. I saw the movie, and then I read the book for one simple reason called Audrey Hepburn. Miss Hepburn is my biggest role model, and I devoted myself to watch all her movies (big shoutout to Netflix for having most of them, thanks a lot!). I'm pretty sure most of you have seen the movie, too. I just have to say that if you liked it, you should totally read the book because it's quite different. That's it; I will say no more because I don't want to spoil it for you. (Spoilers suck!)

9. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is a well-known classic. I personally adore the characters and every single adaptation of this book. If you're looking for a classic as a summer read, you should consider this one. P.S. I find that this book is so crazy that it actually gives me creative inspo.

10. The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
Oh yeah, it's time for another classic. This book has become a lot more popular since the movie, starring Leonardo DiCaprio as Gatsby, was released. From the moment you lay eyes on the first words on the book, you will be hypnotized by Scott's writing. Trust me, it's a good one.

Now you have plenty good reads for the summer! Isn't it awesome that a book can take you to many different places without actually leaving your couch? Books rule.
