Bobbi Kristina Brown died at the age of 22 Sunday surrounded by her family, following a tragic incident at her home back in January."She is finally at peace in the arms of God," her family said in a statement to People. "We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months."
Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston's only child was found unresponsive in a filled bathtub in her Roswell, Georgia home Jan. 31 - just a week before the Grammys. The circumstances were particularly eerie because her mother was found dead in a filled bathtub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel Feb. 11, 2012 - the eve of the Grammys that year.
After Bobbi Kristina was found, she was soon rushed to North Fulton Hospital in Roswell, but she never fully regained consciousness. She was in a medically induced coma for months until April, when Bobby revealed she had "woken up" from it. Her grandmother, Cissy Houston, later clarified Bobby's statements, saying Bobbi Kristina was no longer in a coma, but continued to remain unresponsive and had "global and irreversible brain damage."
Still, the family held out hope that things would take a turn for the better, and continued to stay by her side, holding bedside vigils and making sure she was "at peace." Bobbi Kristina was later moved to a rehab facility in March, but in June she was transferred to a hospice care facility."Despite the great medical care at numerous facilities, Bobbi Kristina Brown's condition has continued to deteriorate," Pat Houston told Entertainment Tonight in a statement at that time. "We thank everyone for their support and prayers. She is in God's hands now."
