If scrolling through our list of inspiring quotes didn't quite get you to your daily feel-good quota, this next story is one serious spiritual pick-me-up (and it's a major tearjerker, too).

When the student chorus of Public School 22 in Staten Island, N.Y. met for their last practice, they decided to dedicate the performance to their teacher Adriana Lopez, who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.

Singing Martina McBride's "I'm Gonna Love You Through It" a song that honors and supports cancer survivors and their loved ones, the young students delivered a beautifully harmonic rendition that was inspired by Adriana's "fighting spirit." Not only did their talent shine through, but the compassion they have for their teacher was evident on each of their faces, as well as through the pink flowers they each held up near the end of the song.

After crying her way through the students' performance, Adriana demonstrated that same spirit that inspired them, saying, "It's not easy but I will get through it because I have wonderful friends at this school."

The students' kindhearted gesture even managed to catch the attention of Martina, who shared a heartfelt response on Twitter: These students most certainly deserve the recognition (and much more!) for such a thoughtful and caring act.

Here's to wishing Adriana a speedy recovery.
