Shay Mitchell has no qualms about kissing women on-screen.When asked what it's like to share smooches with ladies on Pretty Little Liars, Shay who plays Emily on the show, told Maxim (via E! Online), "People ask what it's like kissing a woman, as if there's something awkward or weird about it."
"I completely embrace it," she continued. "When I step into Emily's shoes, I'm truly in the moment, and I'm fully attracted to the women I'm fooling around with. I'm not Shay when I'm doing the scene; I'm Emily."
Back in 2013, Emily dished to Teen Vogue about her experiences playing a lesbian on the hit ABC Family show, saying, "I have a lot of friends who are gay; my aunt had a girlfriend. It's just normal. And the way that fans have reacted [to my portrayal of Emily] has been amazing: I'm not playing the gothic chick dressed in all black who eats lunch in the corner and is a lesbian. If you look at the poster, you wouldn't necessarily be able to pinpoint which one of us is the lesbian, and that was really important to me."Off-screen, Emily says she's single, and while she didn't give too much away about her dating life in her Maxim interview, the 27-year-old actress did reveal what she looks for in a potential beau.
"I don't want a guy unless he's mine alone," she continued. "I want eye contact, phones face down on the table," she shared. "If there's something in the room that's more interesting than me, why are we even pretending?"Dating aside, Shay also took on the mag's challenge of trying to describe herself in 15 seconds, and posted the video clip to Instagram. "I am a woman who wants to travel to as many different places as I can, experience as many different cultures and try out as many different foods while wearing a great pair of heels," she said in it.
