We were super excited when we saw Jenelle Evans' post about getting engaged during her vacation to St. Thomas with Nathan Griffith. Jenelle had said that Nathan was going to wait until a time that he was able to surprise her and it sounds like he picked the perfect moment.We were so busy being happy for them that we didn't actually give any thought to who had paid for the ring or the room for their vacation or any of that stuff - but haters never sleep and that was a popular Twitter topic after Nathan popped the question.
Nathan did confirm that MTV did paid for their hotel room, which makes sense because they were there filming. In a now-deleted tweet, Nathan wrote, "I don't know what's going on but yea mtv paid for the room as compensation. I'm getting sick of all this drama. I'm in St. Thomas."
As far as the ring is concerned, a source tells The Ashley's Reality Roundup, "They won't pay for anything like that...If someone goes out to dinner and it's on-camera, MTV will pay the bill, up to a certain amount. They'll pay for activities on camera. So maybe the dinner bill was picked up. But anyone that thinks MTV would pay for an engagement ring is completely wrong."
