From that clothing line, to that sweet album, it makes total sense that the country music queen has been named the top-earning American Idol alumnus of 2014.This is the second year in a row that the mama-to-be has been named the highest paid former contestant. According to Forbes, the country superstar pulled in $10 million before taxes in 2014, owing to concert fees, sales of her music and her lucrative role in the NBC production 'The Sound of Music: Live!'
That's still significantly less than the $31 million she earned in 2013. That could be because she toured less in 2014 than 2013, and only performed at several shows to promote her 'Greatest Hits' album.
Kelly Clarkson came in second place, making $8 million last year. Newly engaged Phillip Phillips grabbed the second spot on the list. He raked in $5 million.
