When we first met Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra on MTV's 16 & Pregnant, they had a baby on the way and were grappling with the decision to place her for adoption or keep her. At the time, they had a very unstable home situation and they ultimately decided that their daughter would have a better life if they placed her for adoption, so they did. Now, it's five years later and they've grown up a lot, they have a more stable financial and home situation and they decided they were ready to raise a child. They welcomed their daughter Nova on January 1, 2015.
While most of the Teen Mom universe was thrilled for them, there were some fans that went on the attack, saying they basically shouldn't have had this baby because they placed their first for adoption.
Finally, Tyler had enough and posted this:
So sick of the ignorance in the world. Just because you place a child for adoption doesn't mean your not allowed to have another #GetReal

He also retweeted a lot of message from supportive fans who say they were adopted, their birth moms had other children and they don't hold any resentment. The best part is that the daughter they did place for adoption, Carly, will eventually be old enough to watch their episode of 16 & Pregnant and Teen Mom and see how much heart they put into the decision and how much they love her.
They also have an open adoption and Catelynn herself recently told In Touch magazine that she hopes the two of them can even have a relationship some day.
