Zayn admitted recently to Now magazine: "Speaking and singing are two completely separate things! I can sing and not be fazed by it. Then the minute I have to speak my brain fails me!"
Case in point - watch Zayn barely make a noise in this new One Direction New Year's Eve interview. The mysterious silent type, eh? Thankfully, he doesn't suffer from brain fart episodes when he takes it on stage.
Zayn also dished on one of his favorite moments in the band - winning big at the MTV VMAs in 2012: "We won three [awards]! All the stars were right next to us. We felt like the new kids; we had no friends. It was really weird..."
