You can't blame a bunch of guys for trying to cash in on the success of One Direction - and, in the case of this 1D tribute band, they're actually reaping some of the same results as the band they're emulating.Scottish One Direction tribute band, One and Only Direction, say they've had "an amazing year" as 1D lookalikes.
Singer Liam Fergusson (the Niall Horan of the band), told the Daily Record recently: "People have started crying when we've met them, it's mental that we have that effect on people." He added, "It's been an amazing year."
Richard Dickson explains how people started noticing that he looked like Harry Styles, saying, "It was about February when people actually started saying it to me, because I never thought about it. I didn't really take an interest in looking like anyone apart from myself. I was walking down the street and people would say it to me and I was like, 'Well maybe I should do something about it.'"
You may recall this summer when One and Only Direction's Liam and Richard had to be escorted by security out of 1D's Edinburgh Murrayfield Stadium show when they were mobbed by fans. Then there was the time Richard was mistaken for Harry at the MTV EMAs.
Of course, there are the critics too, as Richard explained: "Online, I've had people say some of the nicest things to me and the most horrible things, but I suppose that's something that I've signed up for."
