Sometimes celebrities choose not to respond to rumors about themselves and sometimes they decide enough is enough and they speak out to set the record straight regarding the rumor du jour. Fortunately, now that pretty much everyone has Twitter, there is no big press conference necessary. You just tap out your 140-character rumor rebuttal and move along with your day.
After rumors had been swirling that Ansel Elgort was gay, he finally decided to do exactly that and he made the most amazing statement in the process.
"Just in case it isn't clear... I like girls. A lot," he tweeted. All right, so that settles the "is he gay or straight question," but he had one more very important thing to say about the subject.
"Also let me say if I was gay I wouldn't hide it," he added. "Being gay or straight isn't bad or good it just IS. U are who you are. Be true to yourself."
Amen to that!
