Our thoughts are with Teen Mom star Amber Portwood as she mourns the loss of her father who passed away on December 16 at the age of 50.Two days before his death, Amber had asked fans for their prayers as she revealed that he was in the hospital. "Everyone please pray for my father he's in ICU...I appreciate it and sending love always," she tweeted.
Amber's brother, Shawn Portwood Jr., told The Daily Mail that their father, Shawn Portwood Sr., been put into a medically induced coma on Friday night following a liver surgery. Sadly, he passed away just a few days later.
"He was our heart and soul and is deeply missed by everyone who knew him. I never thought I was capable of feeling the way I do now after losing my father and a million tears will not take this pain away from me, Amber, and the rest of his family," he told the site.
He also said that their father had been instrumental in helping Amber rebuild her life after she was released from prison. "When I called Amber to tell her, she didn't say a whole lot of anything. She was too busy crying. He's been sick for a while but there is no way to prepare for this," he said, regarding his sister.
As fans extended their love and sympathy to the reality star on social media, she thanked them with this heartbreaking statement.
