Celebrity Sightings In New York City - December 15, 2014Emma Stone has never been on Instagram or Twitter, and it looks like she won't be on it anytime soon.

The Birdman star broke down why she's not a fan of social media during a recent panel facilitated by the Los Angeles Times and EPIX, saying that she doesn't think it's the best idea to share certain parts of her life with strangers.

"It's that need to be liked, that need to be seen, that need to be validated, in a way, through no one that you know," the actress said, according to Vanity Fair. "And so people ask the question about fame, or what it feels like, and it seems like everybody knows what that feels like. It seems like everyone's cultivating their lives on Instagram or on different forms of social media, and what pictures looks best of their day."

"It's this very modern 'keeping up with the Joneses,' she continued. "It's almost impossible to find someone that's not, in some way, on the Internet."

After realizing that she had gotten away from the initial question - what are your feelings about social media - Emma said, "every time I talk about social media, I forget where I'm going. I go into a rabbit hole."

Even though she isn't on social media, Emma couldn't help but engage in a selfie session with David Letterman (even though she claims she just learned what 'selfie' means) nonetheless when she visited the Late Show Monday. And just for fun, the snap was posted on the show's Instagram.
