We can always count on Lorde to keep it real, but we had no idea the 17-year-old New Zealand singer was this down to earth.
During her interview with Stella magazine, the Grammy winner reveals that she goes dumpster diving regularly when she's back home.
Of course, she has a name for it that sounds classier.
"See, I'm boring because my favorite thing to do is trawl the inorganics. Do you have inorganics here?" she asks.
What she's referring to is a reuse/recycling process in New Zealand, where people clear out their unwanted furniture, electronics and clothes each year to the curbs.
"It stays on the street for a few days and then it's collected and put into a landfill somewhere. But people drive around and go through other people's household rubbish," Lorde says. "And, honestly, I've gotten amazing furniture, shoes, hats, jackets."
And don't think she stopped just because she's a celebrity now. "I did this three weeks ago!" she laughs. "Recognized every single time. So embarrassing!"
So Lorde can afford anything she wants but she's cool with curbside hand me downs? Just another reason why the "Royals" singer is so refreshing in Hollywood.
