Paul was wearing a special, "snake-proof" suit and he was mic'd up to his medical team. Everything looked good until the snake got to about shoulder-level and Paul had to tap out.
Disappointed fans took to Twitter to share their frustration and to lament the fact that despite all the hype, Paul wasn't eaten alive at all. While the show itself might have been a bit of a letdown, it DID inspire these awesome tweets, which have just as much entertainment value, so we're calling it a wash.
Hey @discovery, can I have my own show? #EatenAlive pic.twitter.com/OLEZykn1sx

Just to clarify, I've been eaten by anacondas just as many times as the dude on #EatenAlive.
