This could be one of the most amicable celebrity splits we've seen yet.After announcing their separation in January, Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie have been hanging out quite a bit, even getting spotted holding hands on the way to a Halloween party last month.
Now, the "All About You" singer is admitting she still loves her estranged hubby.
"We really didn't see it going any other way," Hilary told Health magazine. "We have a 2-year-old together. We love each other. Obviously it wasn't a rash decision that we made. We really are just trying to figure out how we are the most happy-whether together or apart-and we're doing it as lovingly as possible. We would hang out without Luca; we think it's important to keep a strong relationship no matter if we're married or not married. And we love our son. We both want to fight for happiness."
Hilary has been open in the past about having a cordial relationship with Mike, telling E! News back in May, "We're really good friends and we have so much respect for each other, and, obviously, Luca is our number one priority."
She talked about their relationship again in August, telling the Los Angeles Times, "We have a lot of love for each other and we have this beautiful baby. Maybe we're not meant to be together, or maybe we are."Perhaps these two are on the track to getting back together? All signs - we hope - are pointing to that possibility.
Meanwhile, Hilary also talked about what she's grateful for right now, saying, "Every day, Luca would top the list. I'm just so grateful for his health, and he has the best spirit."
"I could cry right now. (Her eyes well up with tears.) I just see so much of myself in him and so much of Mike in him," she continued. "He's a little combo baby. And I'm grateful for the drive that I have. I don't think everyone knows what it is to actually get this off the ground. It's a lot of work. And it's a lot of me missing quality time with my little guy. Maybe it was because I was trained by the [Disney] mouse."
"I just have a crazy-good work ethic. I work to the bone. I don't really have to work; I want to work, and I feel fulfilled from it. And there's a good response happening, so it drives me, pushing me forward. But I really am trying to cherish all my time with Luca because I know how busy I'm about to be. I'm so into him. I'm grateful for him always. Top of my list. Every day."
