It's been tough to tell Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen apart...until now.When the famous twins made a rare red carpet appearance at the 2014 World of Children Awards in New York City Thursday, Mary Kate looked a little different than we've seen her before.
Clad in a wool coat, slouchy jeans and booties, Mary Kate struck a pose face-to-face with Ashley, who rocked a colorful maxi skirt, black turtleneck and funky stacked heels. Although the sisters are actually fraternal twins - not identical - it wasn't only Mary Kate's shorter hair that had heads turning. It was her facial appearance as well, which sparked rumors of plastic surgery.
"28-year-old MK...didn't quite go full-Zellweger, but something's up," TMZ wrote, for example, referencing Renee Zellweger's last headline-making red carpet appearance, in which she looked nearly unrecognizable.Granted, Mary Kate was wearing her hair completely different from her sister (straight and slicked rather than long and wavy), and they were also rocking contrasting styles and make-up looks. So, it's possible this could all be an illusion.
