We really didn't see this one coming.Tyler Posey and his longtime girlfriend Seana Gorlick have called off their engagement and broken up, with the Teen Wolf star telling Us Weekly that their relationship is over.
"You're the first interview I've said this to. We have broken up," he told the mag at the ASPCA Cocktail Event in honor of Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting and Nikki Reed in Los Angeles Wednesday. "I'm just gonna get it out there because I get sad talking about it. I'm just gonna get it out there now so that hopefully people start hearing about it."
While the 23-year-old actor didn't go into detail about why they broke up, he added that he was doing "okay," but said "I don't know" when asked if they are still friends.
News of the couple's split comes just weeks after Tyler celebrated his birthday in Las Vegas with a bunch of his guy friends, partying the night away at Hakkassan. It didn't appear that Seana was with him on that trip.
The couple had originally talked about getting married this fall, after Tyler popped the question in the summer of 2013 during their vacation to Hawaii.
"I just want to be married to her - I want to be with her forever," the MTV star told the mag in July 2013. "I've been wanting to ask her to marry me for years now and I finally did it. It's everything I've wanted to do. I finally feel like myself."Just last month, Tyler and Seana both defended their decision to get married young on his MTV doc, Being Tyler Posey.
"I understand why people who don't know us personally think we are too young," Seana said to Tyler while they were driving to lunch. "If I hear that kids are getting married at our age, I'm like 'no that's not gonna last," Tyler adds. "Yeah, I understand," Seana continues. "But, people who know us are like 'Yeah that makes sense.' They have confidence in us from knowing us."
"All I know is that I'm going to look in your eyes and the sound is going to go away and then I'm going to cry," Tyler says with a smile while they eat.
The couple had been dating since childhood, with Tyler previously telling Us Weekly he knew she was 'the one' since he was 11.
