Nick Cannon and his wife Mariah Carey were all smiles at "Family Day" on the Santa Monica Pier--an event Nick created to take a step back from their crazy, public lives and make time for what's really important--family.
But while speaking to Entertainment Tonight, there was no way to avoid the pink-haired elephant in the room.
What was Nick's take on Mariah's feud with her fellow American Idol judge Nicki Minaj? A feud, which we reported earlier, that has actually been going on for years!
To be honest, he hopes the drama dies down. And Cambio could not agree more. This is a show about music and the contestants--not which judge can hurl an insult the fastest--a sentiment that Nick echoes.
"I'm sure the FOX Network is happy," Nick said. "But, hey if that's what works, it says something about entertainment in general. American Idol is really about people accomplishing their dreams. That's the essence of show and I hope they focus on that."
Nick, who hosts America's Got Talent, hopes that American Idol host Ryan Seacrest steps in the next time a fight breaks out.
"Ryan, get it together," Nick said. "You're supposed to be the police too!"
