Students at a Georgia high school are making headlines after crowning two special needs teens as their Homecoming king and queen.

During the heartwarming coronation at Dunwoody High School, Hannah Keen and Gus Ashbury received their honors last Friday, smiling at the crowd of their classmates, many of whom had "tears in their eyes" of joy, according to NBC News.

"That's what we're all about here," Principal Tom McFerrin told the outlet. "Be good people and do good things in this world."

According to 11Alive.com, the students elected Hannah - who has Down's syndrome - and Gus - who has autism - by a landslide. To put that into perspective, 1,2000 students at the school voted for the 20 candidates on the ballots for Homecoming King and Queen.

One senior who had known Hannah since kindergarten told NBC, "We're all sitting there, like, 'Hannah and Gus, oh my gosh! They have to win!' We were all on the field and we all had tears in our eyes, like, 'Oh my gosh!'" Meanwhile, Hannah told 11Alive.com about the honor saying, "It's big! It's huge!" Gus added, "I'm happy."

Ryan Seacrest, who attended the high school back in the day, also gushed over the student body's awesome gesture on his On Air With Ryan Seacrest show Friday, even having the principal call in to chat about the "unbelievable" surprise.

Congratulations to them both!
