The Touching Reason This Girl's Starbucks Drive-Thru Video Went Viral

This girl's Starbucks drive-thru experience is capturing hearts around the world - and for good reason. The company has started installing video chat capability at some of their locations for customers going through the drive-thru. As we see in this video, though, for many people it's about so much more than just being able to see your barista while you order.

Rebecca King, a 28-year-old deaf woman, posted this interaction she had with her barista at a Starbucks in St. Augustine, Florida and it has already been viewed over 7 million times. "Starbucks! This is what I'm talking about <3. Share it away! We can change the world!" and sharing is exactly what more than 205,000 people have already done!

Starbucks! This is what I'm talking about! ❤️Share it away! We can change the world! :)For Licensing/Usage Please contact licensing@viralhog.com

Posted by Rebecca King on Tuesday, November 3, 2015

The barista was one of those people who shared the video, writing, "So for those who know I use sign language, know how much I love the language and how excited I was when I got to use the evolution screen at work. If you haven't gotten to use it yet it's kind of like Starbucks FaceTime. Well, today (not for the first time) I got to use it with a Deaf customer and they were thrilled! This video is going viral and I wanted to share it with y'all. So proud that my company can do this."

St. Augustine has a large deaf community as The Florida School for the Deaf and Blind is located in there. The store's assistant manager told BuzzFeed that they have four baristas at that location who know ASL (American Sign Language) and that screen makes it much easier for them to communicate. "People who are Deaf feel comfortable here and that's our goal for all of our customers," she explained.

No word yet on exactly how many Starbucks restaurants will be installing the video chat technology, but after seeing what a difference it can make for people who can't easily just shout their order into the speaker, we hope to see them popping up everywhere!

This Is the Most Expensive Food on the Planet

Group of violet crocus flowers, crocus sativaMind = Blown.

If you ever hit the lottery and want to taste the priciest food in existence, head to Pampore, India and feast on this beyond expensive grub whipped up with purple flowers (yes, flowers).

According to Hello Giggles, for just one week every year there is a gorgeous landscape of purple flowers there, known as Crocus Sativa, which produce Saffron - the world's most expensive food. It takes 4,200 flowers to get just one ounce of saffron, and each flower's stamens must be carefully removed by hand to get it. As you might imagine, that takes a long time to do - and someone skilled has to be paid to do it.
Dried saffron spice and flowerAs a result, saffron can sell for up to $10,000 a pound and is referred to as Red Gold (for good reason). It is often used in paella and bouillabaisse dishes, though, so, if you ever want a taste of it without forking over big bucks for the spice, you can always order up one of those at a restaurant and ask if they include saffron in the recipe.

For now though, we'll just stick to our burger and fries.

Jennifer Lawrence Plays a Hot Mess in Film With Amy Schumer

Earlier this summer, we were forced to step up our #BFFGoals when besties Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer announced they were penning a screenplay about two sisters. Ever since then, we've settled for living vicariously through the two boss chicks, which obviously includes incessant fawning over their cinematic work in progress. Luckily, J. Law revealed some deets about their upcoming flick to Entertainment Tonight that somewhat clues us in on what to expect.

In the comedic flick, Amy's the sister who basically has her ish together with aspirations of becoming a flight attendant. Meanwhile, J. Law sums up her character using an M-word that most girls can relate to at one point or another. Not a masterful, matronly, millionairess, but instead she'll be playing the sister who's "a mess."

Clearly, this character couldn't be further from the J. Law we've all come to know (in our heads) and adore IRL. As the world's top-earning actress and staunch opponent of the gender pay gap, the Hunger Games star is no slouch, but she is rather tight-lipped.

Srsly, Jennifer is that all you can tell us about the film?!

Child Missing for Years Found After Applying to College

Julian Hernandez missingTalk about cray! Thanks to college, a 5-year-old boy who went missing from his home in Alabama 13 years ago has been found alive in Ohio.

Julian Hernandez has just been found living with his dad outside Cleveland. He was reported missing from the Birmingham, Alabama area by his mother back in 2002, while there have been several leads, no one knew where Julian was.

That's when the boy applied to several colleges, and realized that there was an issue with his social security number. He approached a school counselor, who was trying to help when she realized Julian was listed as missing by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Julian had been living with his father, 53-year-old Bobby Hernandez in Ohio and under an assumed name. A woman and two other children lived in the home, too.

Bobby has been charged with tampering with records in Ohio to get a driver's license in 2012, and police say he'll face additional charges in Alabama. He's being held in Ohio on a $250,000 bond.

As for Julian's mother, well she's still in Alabama, and of course, is ecstatic about the news.

This App Lets You Create Selfie Collages With Your Squad

pretty young female tourist...You'll never have to be alone in a selfie again, thanks to the Picpal app.

The app, which allows you to make a selfie collage with up to three of your friends, is undergoing some major changes over the next month.

Starting Monday, you'll be able to live preview yourself in the selfie collage before actually taking a photo, so you'll get a better idea of what the app is all about when you DL if you're a Picpal noob. You can add text, draw and change filters too, similar to Snapchat, as well as comment on your friends' pics. There's also some editing features so you can make sure your selfie's #OnFleek. Here's a pic of what the final collage would end up looking like on the current version of the Picpal app, which is currently available on iOS and Android.
PicpalCould be fun, right? It's about to get better: The week of November 23, Picpal will release another update in order to make it the first-ever "collage chat app," they claim. Here's how CEO Mahesh Rajagopalan describes it:

"The current version of Picpal is all about people creating in-the-moment selfie collages with friends. But in the next version, a user can keep updating her status by tapping on her previous Picpals and sending her latest selfies. The Picpal collage then auto updates, telling her squad her current 'status' and allowing her to chat with her friends in a selfie collage mode."

While we doubt that Picpal is going to replace Snapchat in our lives, we love that it tells a little bit more of a story - and the constant status updates will definitely keep us coming back for more. We can't wait till the chat updates roll out!

The Kardashians Are Throwing a $2 Million Birthday Party for Kris Jenner

Cosmopolitan Magazine's 50th Birthday CelebrationThe Kardashians go big when it comes to birthdays. In fact, people are still talking about the party they threw for Khloe Kardashian's boyfriend, James Harden, where they rented a yacht and set off a HUGE fireworks display, freaking out a whole bunch of unsuspecting residents in Marina Del Ray in the process.

When Kylie Jenner's bestie turned 18, she bought her a Mercedes-Benz. No biggie. And we all know about the $260,000 Ferrari that Tyga gave Kylie for her 18th bday.

Suffice it to say, birthdays are a big deal for the crew, so with momager Kris Jenner turning 60 this week, we knew they'd go hard for her birthday bash, we just didn't realize they were gonna go THIS hard.

via GIPHY

According to TMZ, the family is throwing a $2 MILLION party for her! All six of Kris' kids (Kourtney, Khloe, Kylie, Kendall, Kim and Rob) chipped in for the Great Gatsby-themed event, which will be held in West Hollywood and will apparently feature performances by some "huge stars," although nobody has let the lineup slip.

Also, the usual crew will be there, including Kanye West, Tyga, Kris' boyfriend Corey Gamble and Caitlyn Jenner, which is cool, considering Kris and Cait had a little bit of tension over the last few months. It sounds like they've definitely put that behind them and are working hard to keep their family as close as it always was, even though their official relationship status has changed.

Miranda Lambert Posts Cryptic Lyrics Online...About Blake and Gwen?

MIranda Lambert at the 49th Annual CMA Awards - ShowMiranda Lambert needs to be our new BFF. The country singer is going through it right now thanks to her ex-husband Blake Shelton announcing that he's dating Gwen Stefani, but that hasn't stopped her from being badass.

The country singer went to Facebook Friday and posted cryptic lyrics online that we're all pretty sure is aimed at the new couple...

"I could spend ages reading the news, I could spend days, singing the blues," Miranda wrote, quoting the song "Better Than" by the band Lake Street Dive. "But I turn up the tv light. Give up without a fight. Better than pretending to know what's wrong and what's right."
She commented after quoting the lyrics, "This song. This band. These lyrics. @lakestreetdive thanks @ape_lewis for turning me on to this."

Blake and Gwen confirmed that they're dating shortly before the CMA Awards Wednesday night, where Miranda not only performed but took home an award for Female Vocalist of the Year. Shortly after the show, Mir went to Instagram to post another touching, inspirational message.

"I'm still floating around on a cloud from last night. Thank you so much @cma for celebrating country music in a big way and for letting me be part of it. Today was a day spent reflecting on this amazing life that Nashville and country music fans have given me. And my friends. I'm so grateful."

Miranda hasn't spoken publicly about Blake's new boo, but there are reports that she saw the hookup coming because the two of them have always been flirty. She also has no bad blood, and wishes them nothing but the best.

Should We Really Be Afraid of Parabens in our Makeup?

$

Woman applying moisturizer to cheekYou've probably heard by now that parabens are not something you want in your beauty products. They've quickly become one of those chemicals scientists and organic brands are both saying we should look out for. But when we heard a study recently came out linking parabens to a possibility of breast cancer, we had to investigate. What exactly are parabens, and what's the threat? Should we really be avoiding them altogether?

No worry boos, Cambio's got you.

Turns out, parabens aren't just some evil chemical cosmetic brands are putting in our products just to poison us. When our fave creams, shampoos or some makeups are made, manufacturers will include parabens to prevent bacteria or fungi from growing in our products. Gross. Basically, parabens help our products last longer, and keep us from developing a nasty illness from using that mascara a bit too long.
That being said, parabens may be more dangerous than we thought before. Previous research has found that parabens can often mimic the effects of estrogen, the female sex hormone. When this happens, your body is tricked into thinking it's made more estrogen than it actually has, which leads to reproductive problems and possibly even cancer.

Most parabens in our lotions, hair care products and cosmetics are in very low doses, but researchers at UC Berkley are becoming weary of even that amount. In their study, they found that exposing breast cancer cells to parabens in low doses allowed the cells to grow pretty quickly.

Yikes.
Woman pumping lotion into handsBut what exactly does that mean for us? Dr. Dale Leitman, one of the researchers of the study, told Cambio that it's difficult to estimate if parabens will actually cause breast cancer and how often that will happen. Because his research showed that breast cancer cells meeting with parabens make more cancerous cells, there's a possibility, but we don't know what that means for healthy individuals.
Set of make up objectsOur advice? Be aware of parabens possibly in your cosmetics, and try to stay away as much as you can. Luckily, a lot of personal care product brands are moving away from using parabens altogether just in case. On its site, Breast Cancer Action has a list of products that are paraben-free, some of which include Afterglow Cosmetics, Barefoot Botanicals and Burt's Bees. And that list is pretty long, showing that more and more products are ditching the parabens for other methods of keeping bacteria from growing.

Reading labels can help as well; most products will detail if they're paraben-free. But if you're still curious about whether the products you use have parabens, the Enviromental Work Group's online database Skin Deep allows you to type in your favorite product and will give you a list of all the chemicals in it.

Blake Shelton Wants Everyone to Stop Talking About His Relationship

2015 iHeartRadio Music Festival - Night 2 - ShowBlake Shelton is so over everyone getting in his business when it comes to his relationship with Gwen Stefani.

Just days after Gwen's rep confirmed that she and Blake are dating, the country crooner made it clear how he feels about all the attention surrounding them. When a fan tweeted Friday, "I love @blakeshelton , but OMG, the media needs to chill out with his dating life. The guy is moving on. #findsomethingelsetotalkabout," Blake replied, "Amen!!!!!!!! Let's all move along now!!." Blake and Gwen weren't exactly hiding that they were into each other before the rep's confirmation, though. They were spotted packing on the PDA at parties in Los Angeles during Halloween weekend, and they had been flirty on the Voice set too.

After the news was announced, Blake and Gwen hit the town in Nashville Wednesday and made their first appearance as a couple at a CMA Awards after party. They were also spotted holding hands as walked outside, according to People.

As for how Blake's ex-wife Miranda Lambert feels about them stepping out as a couple, a source told E! News that it has been a little hard for her to digest, but she's making the most of being single and her success. Last night, for example, she took home the Female Vocalist of the Year at the CMAs. "It lit up her night,!" a source told E!.

In spite of dealing with the Gwen and Blake news, Miranda reportedly had a "blast" at the CMAS, with a source telling E!, "She has moved on from Blake and is excited to start the next chapter in her life."

Lauren Giraldo makes us want to listen to our friends a little bit more.

You tell your friends they're funny all the time, right? (Except when they aren't, of course.) Well, imagine if you listened to one of your friends after they asked you to post something funny on Instagram or Vine and then bam - you are a social media star.

Doesn't sound likely? It totally happened to Lauren Giraldo. "My friend had asked me to, since she said they'd be funny," Lauren said about her very first Vine post. "I remember posting like 10 random vines the first day I got it and just having fun."

Now Lauren has over 3.3 million people who watch her on Vine, over 450,000 followers who read her thoughts on Twitter and over half a million people who see her pics on the 'gram.

1: She's only 17, but the social media fame already changed her life. "I switched to virtual high school," she told us. "I'm so busy all the time that I could never have the time to go to physical school." Even with all her newfound attention, she still doesn't consider herself a "celebrity." But that doesn't mean she's not enjoying her journey. "I got to move to LA! Which is amazing because I love the city and I was ready for a change from my home town."

2: Not only have social media stars gained numbers in followers, but they've also gained numbers in their bank accounts. "I spend a lot of money on clothes!" she told us about the biggest splurge she's made so far. "Shopping is one of my favorite hobbies."

3: Lauren recently took over our Instagram account when she went to Stream Con NYC. But we wanted to know which big celeb's account she'd take over if she could. "I would take over Zac Efron's," the 16-year-old rvealed. And she has a master plan, too. "I'd slowly convince him throughout the day that we're soulmates. Then I'd Snapchat the wedding."

Speaking of social media, the Florida native has a few faves she likes to keep up with too over Vine, Instagram and Twitter: Gigi Gorgeous, Kinda Sarah, Just Jamie and Jenna Marbles.

4: With millions of eyes watching her on the daily, does she have to be more careful of the content she puts out there? Sort of. One viewer in particular makes her think twice. "In a perfect world I wouldn't," she said about censoring herself. "Not because I have millions of followers, but because my mom watches my content. But I'm very candid with my viewers and rarely censor."
5: Lauren built her own empire (her fans), so that definitely makes her a #BUILTBYGIRLS girl! "To me, it was about being my genuine self and using my phone as a vessel to share it with more people. Although it wasn't on purpose, it all worked out and I'm so glad it did. Taking advantage of all the tools around you to showcase and participate in what you love is the best feeling."

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards - Red CarpetYou probably think those songs are about you, don't you Justin Bieber?

The Biebs recently revealed that he so hasn't listened to Selena Gomez's new album Revival...and it's so because he knows the songs are about him. While chatting with Billboard, he talked about his ex-boo and their influence on each others' music.

"I know I had a lot of play in that one. I don't know what she's saying about me," he said. He did add that he's "proud of the woman she is today" and that "when you love someone that much, even if something comes between you, it's a love that never really dies."

Justin has already confirmed that three of the songs on his new album Purpose are about her. He also recently revealed that he's not sure he's 100 percent over her yet.

Selena's not the only young, female Justin mentions in his Billboard interview, either. He also voiced his concern for his friend Kylie Jenner. You can read more about that, here.

Who needs a shot of espresso when you have a kick-ass, redemption anthem like Sia's "Alive" to give you complete and utter life?

A little over a month after she released "Alive," the lead single off her forthcoming album This is Acting, the mysterious singer is back with an equally intriguing video that perfectly complements the rousing track. Although we've grown accustomed to the magical music video combination that is Sia and Maddie Ziegler, the "Alive" video stars another absolutely magnetic child star, 9-year-old actress, dancer and mixed martial artist badass Mahiro Takano.

In the simple visual, Mahiro performs a series of fierce martial arts moves in a room all alone, while wearing Sia's famous half-black, half-blonde wig.

She completely breathes life into the song as Sia sings, "I have made every single mistake/That you could ever possibly make/I took and I took and I took what you gave/But you never noticed that I was in pain/I knew what I wanted/I went out and got it/Did all the things you said that I wouldn't/I told you that I would never be forgotten/And all in spite of you/I'm still breathing."

Between Sia's lyrics and the tiny dancer's precise, focused choreography, this video will get you totally pumped to drop kick fear in the face.

Apparently, this was Kylie's way of telling us that she broke a nail (middle finger). She captioned the photo with a strawberry emoji and a note about her broken nail, but let's be honest, if she hadn't said anything, NOBODY would have even noticed.

Kylie hung out with Moschino creative director Jeremy Scott just the other day - he gave her with one of the new Moschino Barbies and apparently this pair of underwear, too.

Miranda Lambert at The 57th Annual Grammy Awards - ShowForeshadowing can be a mutha!

Miranda Lambert may be dealing with the whole Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani dating drama right now, but that doesn't mean she's not a No Doubt fan. The country singer totally belted out one of Gwen's biggest hits from back in the day, shortly before she and Blake announced their split news this past summer. Coincidence?

The surprise performance went down at Joe's Bar in Chicago this past June. One month later, Miranda and Blake confirmed to Us Weekly that they were divorcing after four years of marriage.

During the show, Miranda showed off her jean shorts and fishnet stockings, and appeared to wear her wedding ring. She totally killed the song like a boss.

Miranda's really been dealt the hand lately. Just a day ago, Blake and Gwen announced that they're dating after both filing for divorce from their spouses over the summer.

The same night Miranda had to perform and won big at the CMA Awards in Nashville, leading her to post a cryptic social media message that everyone assumes is aimed at the new couple's announcement.

Watch Miranda sing No Doubt's "Spiderwebs," below. We have a feeling she won't be covering that tune again anytime soon...

Here's a Sneak Peek at Adele Slaying a Live Performance of "Hello"

2012 Grammy Awards ShowThere's no shame in admitting that we've had Adele's "Hello" on repeat since it dropped and pretty much have the amazing video committed to memory. If the anticipation for the singer's forthcoming album 25 feels like it's about to swallow you whole, then perhaps this teaser of Adele performing "Hello" live will hold you over in the meantime.

The preview comes courtesy of the singer's upcoming BBC One special appearance, which will air live on Nov. 20, the same day her highly anticipated third album drops. This will be Adele's first time taking the stage since she slayed the Oscars in 2013 with a breathtaking performance of the James Bond theme song Skyfall.

The frenzy over Adele's "Hello" isn't going to let up anytime soon (not that we'd want it to). Last week, rapper Rick Ross dropped a remix to the ballad and a young Korean girl performed this amazing cover of "Hello" that is totally worthy of the praise hands emoji.

If the video for "Hello" had us ugly crying in the fetal position, we can only imagine the complete emotional meltdown that awaits us when Adele hits the stage.

One Direction's 'History' Is Beyond Special Because Fans Helped Record It

one direction history includes fan voicesOne Direction released the new song "History" today and while we're so totally obsessed with it, there's something extra special about the single.

While Niall Horan called it one of their "favorite songs," he also explained some special fan involvement that just takes it totally next level.

Niall took to Twitter to give a shout out to the fandom, explaining they "brought some fans to the studio to record the chorus," adding, "so this song is really YOURS."

We. Die.

How lucky are the fans who got to be a part of "History"? We'd be bubbling with jealousy if we weren't too busy listening to the song on repeat.

Meanwhile, Liam Payne told Entertainment Weekly: "more than anything, the song is about the way the fans and everyone have created this massive thing - One Direction - over the past five years. Out of ['History'] comes a little bit of closure for this chapter of One Direction."

He added, "It's really great because obviously that song is mainly about the fans and what they've done; I think it was important that they were a part of it, to close the album."

This Is Why You Should Actually Try Tech Wearables

$

LumoidAs writers always on the hunt for cool stories, we come across our fair share of exciting tech wearables and cool gadgets. But if you asked us, "Do you actually own a wearable?"...up until a few days ago, we would have said no.

Even though all these cutting-edge inventions sound dope, it wasn't until we took these babies for a spin that we really understood how they can factor into - and change! - our daily routines.

Aarthi Ramamurtny felt the same way, and as a result, was inspired to launch her Silicon Valley-based company, Lumoid. The smart AF founder and CEO, who was recruited by Microsoft as one of the youngest product managers to work on projects like Xbox Live, knew that few people want to invest in tech that they've never actually tried. Aarthi started out with rental cameras, photography equipment and drones, and in early 2015, introduced tech wearables.

When a Lumoid rep reached out to us to try it out, we just had to say yes. And we were floored by how much it changed our lives.

via GIPHY

We went with the Lumoid's Fashion Friendly Kit, because you know how important it is for us, and especially our tech, to always be #OnFleek. The kit came with a Misfit Shine, Mira, Withings Activité Pop and Ringly. The first three are fitness/health trackers, while the Ringly is a pretty personal notification device for email, calls, texts and apps in a ring made with real semiprecious gemstones (it also recently came out with a bunch of awesome new styles).

As soon as we slapped on one of the fitness bracelets, something just sort of clicked. We regularly take a range of dance, cardio and toning fitness classes, and it was amazing to see how exercise - and a day of sedentary desk work - could affect our activity and how many calories we actually burn. If you need help meeting your goals, many will offer activity suggestions (run for 30 minutes, etc.) to help you get there. How has it taken us this long to become converts?!

Each of the gadgets is slightly different, and the way you utilize the app might be the most important factor in deciding. Mira and Misfit allow you to add in different activities like yoga and cycling, while Misfit and Withings track your sleep as well as steps. You'll also probably factor in the look and feel of the bracelet when it's on your wrist - Misfit and Mira can also be attached to your shirt, shoe or other places.

As for which was our favorite...The Mira Fitness app had the most dynamic tracker, IMO, bubbling up in areas of more intense activity so we could really see how our we moved throughout the day. Check it out:
MiraThe bottom line is that a wellness tracker really does encourage you to make smarter choices to stay active, and the fun, game-like approach to meeting your goals helps you stay on top of your fitness. Sounds like a win-win to us.

So are you sold yet? Now, you just have to figure out which is the right one.

If you want the same wearables that we had, the Lumoid Fashion Friendly Kit allows you to test out all four over a two-week trial period for just $30. If you choose to keep one, the $30 is deducted from the price of the item, meaning you basically got to test them out for free. So if you're serious about getting a wearable, which you should be, it's really the smartest way to go.

If style is the least of your concerns when picking out a wearable, there are plenty of collections to choose from, based on what you're looking for, including a Women's Running Kit, a Hipster Kit (!) and a Smartwatch Kit. You can also opt to take Lumoid's wearables quiz, and they'll send you five models to try for $30.

Looks like we're about to become those girls who rock wearables - and we're pretty excited about it!

The original track is wrought with enough emotion to help quickly air out your tear ducts, but trust us - Sam's rendition will leave you mopping up just as many tears.

"I was 11 years old when Frank came out and that album has really shaped me as an artist and my views on music and my relationship with music, lyrically," Sam said of the late singer's debut album.

Here's another reason to clutch your chests while rocking back and forth in mid-cry sesh - the heart-wrenching cover will be included on Sam's new album.

Nails Inc.This is a whole new way to look at "nail art."

There's no denying that tiny spray can is adorable AF. But do you realize this new nail tech could shorten your mani time so much, you might toss away all those annoying, mini nail polish brushes?

On November 12, the British beauty baes at Nails Inc. will introduce the Paint Can in two shades, bubblegum pink Hoxton Market or silver Shoreditch Lane.
Nails Inc.Here's how it works: apply a base coat (this part is crucial), and then get your Banksy on and spray away for about 20 seconds. Seal it in with a top coat. Yes, your hand will be covered in nail polish, but, according to Vogue UK, it will come off with warm soapy water or face wipes once its dry. Sigh...if only getting regular nail polish off your skin was that easy. #TheStruggle

If you still aren't convinced, UK style icon Alexa Chung appears to be rocking the spritz too, so it's gotta be something special.
