Either Jay Z temporarily joined Instagram, or someone decided to pull a totally believable social media prank. On Saturday, Aug. 29, a user by the name of @Hovsince96 uploaded a throwback photo of Jay Z posing with Michael Jackson, in honor of the late singer's birthday. The caption for the post (which has since been deleted) read, "Happy Birthday to the King." It continued, "This may be my first and last post."

OK, so we all know that Jay Z has 99 problems - but keeping his word isn't one of them. As he (or the mystery Instagram user) promised, the account appeared and disappeared as fast as it came, which is rather puzzling. Seriously, what's up with the Insta-tease Jay?

It's too bad he had to post and run because he might've had a chance to avenge his wife Beyoncé's loss to Kim Kardashian, who recently beat out Queen Bey for the highest number of Instagram followers. Although the account was short-lived, PEOPLE reports that Jay Z's supposed Instagram page managed to rack up 100,000 followers before the vanishing act.

There's been no word on whether the Instagram account actually belonged to Jay Z. However, a post from the rapper's friend and music executive Michael Kyser suggests that it was in fact, the handiwork of Hov himself.

At San Diego Comic Con this year, I was introduced to Google's new virtual reality (VR) tool: Google Cardboard. It's made completely of cardboard (plus a magnet as a control) and is super easy to assemble, making for an extremely budget-friendly option at $14.99, compared to the Oculus Rift, a super-charged virtual reality tool coming out in early 2016.

The Legendary booth at Comic Con used Google Cardboard to promote their new film Crimson Peak, starring the one and only Tom Hiddleston.

The movie is a horror film, so the experience was both terrifying and awesome. I ended up ordering a Google Cardboard of my own (the basic version), and downloading an equally-terrifying VR app, Sisters. Here's a video of my fiancé trying Google Cardboard (he's going to hate me for posting this, by the way.) Please also notice our sweet pup making sure he's OK.

The Cardboard works using the technology from the VR app you are using combined with the lenses in the tool. The bigger initiative (other than providing an insanely cool VR experience) is to encourage developers to build their own VR apps for Android and iOS. Google Cardboard's Developer website has several of options and guides to building your own VR, growing their library of experiences for users.

All in all, we're only at the beginning of the innovative experiences Cardboard will offer. For now, it's a great thing to bring to a family get together to break the ice and prevent those oh-so-lovely Thanksgiving conversations. Check out the different Cardboard options to order, and be sure to download these apps to get started (PS, all of the below are free):

-Legendary Films (VR): The Crimson Peak one is great to freak out your friends, but personally I thought the Pacific Rim experience was even better (even if the movie wasn't all it was cracked up to be.)

-Google Cardboard: This has several different options, including a look into the Smithsonian and a trippy kaleidoscope experience.

-VRSE - Sundance Selection: These clips are created purely to blow your mind and can be used with or without Cardboard (of course the Cardboard VR experience is 10x better.)

-Jack White: THIRD-D (Android only): 2015 Coachella headliner Jack White has his own VR experience, and I can only imagine that more artists will follow. It wouldn't surprise me if Katy Perry or Taylor Swift were next to build their own VR app.

-Sisters: This is absolutely terrifying. Don't do it alone or in an empty room. Actually, the first person to record a friend doing this and tweets it to me will get a $10 iTunes gift card from yours truly.

Taylor Swift just dropped her new music video for "Wildest Dreams," and it's as amazing as we all knew it would be. Just like she did in her "Blank Space" video, Taylor takes us on a beautiful journey (what's up zebras?!) mixed with another hot guy...and we even get to see cray cray Tay again.

T-Swift premiered her video at the MTV Video Music Awards. We loved it, but we're a little biased. Buuut from the tweets we're reading...fans loved it. It was directed by the same guy who created "Blank Space". No wonder they remind us of each other!

A video debut isn't the only thing Taylor did to surprise fans, and prove she's a total badass during VMAs night. She showed up to the awards show with her famous, female friends. Oh heyy, Selena Gomez!

Sel-Go wasn't the only one who graced Taylor's side at the awards show, and help her ring in her new video. Gigi Hadid, Karlie Kloss, Mariska Hargitay, Cara DeLevigne are just a few who walked the red carpet with her...

Oh, and can we talk about Taylor sporting dark hair? #Love!

Kylie Jenner is a regular hair kameleon, but her hair for the 2015 VMAs was pretty tame, rocking some lush fringe on her forehead. Paired with a crochet-style, long-sleeve dress, her look was on the more demure side (if that word can be used to describe such a sky-high hemline...), compared to other red-carpet stunts like Miley Cyrus's faux-dreadlocks-and-chandelier-dress getup.
We've seen this look before on Kylie's Instagram, and we're gonna hazard a guess that it's another wig she's taken a liking to. That said, we love the soft, rounded ends paired with thick bangs - it's a classy, timeless shape, and a fun change after her edgy blue 'dos.

Kylie wasn't the only one rocking bangs on the red carpet: Nicki Minaj also wore her signature blunt bangs on the red carpet with a gold, sexy AF gown.

Wait - what just happened? The VMAs got off to a pretty exciting start when Nicki Minaj hit the stage with a killer opening performance, but we could've sworn we heard a collective gasp from Barbz and Swifties echo across the Internet because holy crap - Nicki brought out Taylor Swift at the end of her set. Seriously, guys? That was a lot - we need a minute.

Nicki Minaj brought the Carnivale flavor to the stage with a sexy performance of "Trini Dem Girls." Dressed in a fiery red number, she set the stage on fire, windin' her hips and booty-poppin' like an island bad gal. Then the Internet-breaking moment arrived: Taylor joined Nicki for part of "The Night is Still Young." Then the duo closed out the performance with "Bad Blood."

Obviously, this was Nicki and Tay's way of publicly settling the social media beef they had when Nicki tweeted about "Anaconda" being snubbed for Video of the Year nomination. Taylor's response prompted a brief back and forth between the two singers that ended when Taylor invited Nicki onstage should "Bad Blood" win a Moonman. The disagreement recently resurfaced when VMAs host Miley Cyrus slammed Nicki's comments in an interview with The New York Times, saying "I don't respect your statement because of the anger that came with it."

Well, clearly there was no anger on the stage tonight. Taylor and Nicki's performance will undoubtedly go down as one of the most memorable girl power moments ever.

Miley Cyrus isn't afraid of Nicki Minaj. The twerking singer and upcoming host of the VMAs was pretty open about the female rapper and that infamous fight she had with Taylor Swift on Twitter a few weeks ago.

In July, NIcki went on a Twitter rant about how "Anaconda" was snubbed for a Video of the Year nomination at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards, as well as her and Beyonce's song "Feeling Myself."

"If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year," she tweeted. "If I was a different 'kind' of artist, 'Anaconda' would be nominated for best choreo and vid of the year as well."

She also accused the VMAs of body shaming, posting that "black women influence pop culture so much but are rarely rewarded for it."

Miley's not really about all that, though. She claims that Nicki lost focus of the issue at hand. "You made it about you. Not to sound like a b**ch, but that's like, 'Eh, I didn't get my VMA.'"

When Nicki started in on her VMA Twitter rant this past July, Taylor, a Video of the Year nominee, took the attack personal, tweeting, "I've done nothing but love and support you. It's unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot."

"What I read sounded very Nicki Minaj, which, if you know Nicki Minaj is not too kind. It's not very polite. I think there's a way you speak to people with openness and love," Miley told the New York Times.

"You don't have to start this pop star against pop star war. It became Nicki Minaj and Taylor in a fight, so now the story isn't even on what you wanted it to be about."

The former Hannah Montana star also took notice of what people may think about her speaking out on the subject. "I know you can make it seem like, 'Oh I just don't understand because I'm a white pop star,'" she said.

"I know the statistics. I know what's going on in the world. But to be honest, I don't think MTV did that on purpose."

Nicki Minaj will flip the switch on you real quick. Within the first hour of the VMAs, she went from settling her beef with Taylor Swift with a joint performance to twerking onstage with Rebel Wilson. But things went from 0 to 100 when Nicki slammed Miley Cyrus while accepting the Best Hip-Hop video Moonman for "Anaconda."

Nicki's speech started off innocently enough as she delivered some of her signature sassy, pro-independent women advice. After urging girls to avoid depending on "snot-nosed guys," she then she moved on to thank her pastor. At that point, it appears that Nicki lost her religion because she went all the way off on Miley.

"Back to this b*tch that had a lot to say to me the other day in the press," Nicki said. "Miley, what's good?" Miley fired back, telling Nicki that the press often twists words and insisted that not being nominated happened to all artists. Meanwhile, Nicki's mic went silent, but it was clear that she was still upset.

Yikes. Clearly, Nicki wasn't feeling comments Miley made about her tweets regarding "Anaconda" not being nominated for the Video of the Year. In a recent interview with The New York Times, Miley said:

Selena Gomez channeled her inner Miley Cyrus when she walked the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards carpet Sunday night. No she didn't twerk or stick out her tongue, but Sel actually sported a very sexy and see-through black outfit that totally showed off her nipple pasties when cameras flashed. Uhh, say cheese?!

Unclear if it was done on purpose or it was straight up a fashion-opps, Selena rocked the ish out of her dress, showing up and strutting her stuff with Taylor Swift and crew and all. At least she didn't show up with Justin Bieber?

Taylor's outfit gave Selena's a run for its money. She showed up to the awards show in a rainbow crop top and parachute-looking, capri pants.

Even Justin Bieber cries, people! That's exactly the side of the Biebs we saw at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards when he sang his new song "What Do You Mean?" and started crying after his performance.

The touching moment came after the Biebs was overwhelmed by the amount of support he's been given lately by his fans and friends after what you could totally call a rough patch in life.

Bieber seems to be finally back on his game. He killed the red carpet arrivals with that hair (below), and actually levitated into a tunnel at one point during his performance. #Swaggy

As the crowd, which included many of his peers, burst into applause, the 21-year-old bent over and openly cried onstage, unable to hold back his emotions. Maybe he thought he'd never have a "moment" again? Psh, Bieber's back on top, y'all!

We can't help but wonder if Justin peeped his ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez at the show. His new track kind of sounds like it was penned with her in mind. Maybe he's crying because he saw how smoking hot she looks at the awards show? Just kidding. The tears probably came because of that Nicki Minaj and Miley Cyrus fight...

So, if you thought that Kanye West dancing to The Weeknd's "Can't Feel My Face" meant we were in for an easy, breezy Yeezy appearance at the 2015 VMAs, you couldn't have been further off base.

After accepting the Video Vanguard Award from Taylor Swift (who cleverly used Yeezy's infamous "Imma let you finish" line), Kanye took to the stage to deliver what was possibly his most passionate speech to date. That sounds difficult to process, especially because the rapper is known for his impromptu rants (remember when Kanye dissed E! at the Grammys?) but this lengthy acceptance speech was full of some signature Yeezy gems:

Kanye on interrupting Taylor's VMAs speech:

"If I had to do it all again, what would I have done? Would I have worn a leather shirt? Would I have drank a half a bottle of Hennessy and gave the rest to the audience?" he asked. "If I had a daughter at that time, would I have went on stage and grabbed the mic from someone else's?" He continued, "The problem was the contradiction. The contradiction is I do fight for artists. But in that fight, I was somehow disrespectful to artists. I didn't know how to say the right thing, the perfect thing."

Kanye on award shows:

"I still don't understand award shows! I don't understand how they get five people who work their entire life, won, sold records, sold concert tickets, to come, stand on the carpet and for the first time in they [sic] life be judged on the chopping block, and have the opportunity to be considered a loser. I don't understand it, bro. I don't understand what the biggest album...I just wanted people to like me more. But f*ck it, bro. 2015!"

His message to fellow artists:

"I don't know what's gonna happen tonight. I don't know what's gonna happen tomorrow bro, but all I can say to my artists, my fellow artists...just worry how you feel at the time. Just worry about how you feel... I'm confident. I believe in myself." After shouting out millenials, Yeezy vowed to not "teach low self-esteem and hate to our kids," but instead promised to help children to "believe in themselves."

His five-year plan:

"In 2020, I have decided to run for president."

Oh, Yeezy. To be honest, that one leaves us speechless.

For anyone hoping for a Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez lovefest at the 2015 MTV VMAs...well...it didn't happen. What did happen though? Some subtle acts of support and friendship that prove these two former besties are definitely moving on to a new chapter in their lives.

With both ladies at the VMAs, following a little Twitter gushing to each other on Demi's birthday, we hoped they would reunite in a big way, pose for amazing pics together, snap a few selfies and have some laughs.

Unfortunately, that didn't happen, but Demi and Selena definitely were on each others' sides during the show...

We'd be lying if we said we didn't expect to see any rainbow hair at the VMAs. BUT, the rainbow hair we did see wasn't the usual pastel, ombré hues - it was bold shades of blues and pinks. The only exception? Kelly Osbourne's standard lavender locks.

Things got real emotional at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards. Not only did Nicki Minaj and Miley Cyrus get into a little spat, but Justin Bieber burst into tears, too. Is the world ending or wah?!

The Biebs made everyone let out a big "aww" when he broke down on stage after performing his new song "What Do You Mean?" at the show. We're guessing he got emotional because of the rollercoaster his career's been on the past two years. That was all cray and what not, but we couldn't help but wonder WTF Selena Gomez thought about the whole ordeal. Isn't that HER thing? You know, crying on stage over him...?

So where was she when JB sang his heart out? Did Justin's ex watch him bawl from the side of the stage? Was she getting her chat on in the audience with her friends? Nope. According to bystanders, Sel actually dipped out of the show with her Taylor Swift crew BEFORE Justin even performed.

Ouch.

Forget dropping the mic. Miley Cyrus just dropped her nipple on live TV...and a new album!

The twerking singer and now host not only slayed the VMAs, but she also shocked everyone, too. From that random AF feud with Nicki Minaj, to her cray cray outfits, Miley was anything but not entertaining.

The best OMG-Miley moment had to be when she exposed her nipple on live TV. The oh-so-her incident occurred when she was shot getting dressed behind a curtain. That's when one of her girls slipped out, and everyone got a peep of Miley.

We aren't sure if it was totally done on purpose or what, but Miley could be heard saying, "Oh what's happening? Oh sorry, my tit's out?"

That wasn't the only shocker we got from her. At the end of the VMAs, Miley hit the stage for a banging performance and announced that she had dropped a brand new album online. What the whaaat?!

Justin Bieber is taking us on an emotional whirlwind. First he made us bawl along with him during his VMAs breakdown on stage, and then shortly after that he hit us with a sexy new music video.

The Biebs dropped his latest music video, one for his new song "What Do You Mean?" In the vid, he's seen rolling around in bed with a gorgeous, young woman. Who knew Bieber had bed skills like that? There are rumors he's a little "friendly" with the video vixen, too. Oh, and how about that boarding?

"What Do You Mean?" is the same song Justin performed at the MTV Video Music Awards Sunday night. After he sang it, he started to cry on stage, overwhelmed by emotion. #Aww

California is in the middle of a major drought and residents are being urged to cut back their water use in a big way. A big part of the "incentive" is that residents in many districts are being fined if they go above their allotted water use for the month.

There have been many photos online where celebrities have been "drought-shamed" as aerial views show their expansive lawns looking as lush as ever while other residents are letting theirs brown out in the name of saving water.

The Las Virgines Municipal Water District, which covers many of the wealthy suburbs outside of Los Angeles, has taken things a step further and hired a private security company to enforce the new rules about water use. For example, residents in the district are only allowed 15 minutes of outdoor water use two days a week and there can't be any runoff to the street or adjacent properties.

According to a report obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, the agency began monitoring on June 1 and among the 203 violators were Kylie Jenner (who recently purchased a $2.7 million home in Calabasas) and Tyga (who rents a home nearby).

NBC Los Angeles reports that Kylie has actually been cited for two violations this summer and did receive a fine. Kylie and Tyga aren't the only celebs in the district who were cited. According to NBC, Denise Richards, Dr. Dre and David Hasselhoff. For what it's worth, David's rep told the site that his violation was for watering on the wrong day, which was an oversight that he's since rectified.

Looking good, Rob Kardashian!

The reclusive reality star just shared his first new selfie in years and it looks like he's well on his way to the comeback we've all been waiting for.

Rob was very open about his weight struggles on Keeping Up With The Kardashians and various family members have commented that it's something he's really been having a tough time with. It was even reportedly a big part of the reason he skipped out of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's wedding at the 11th hour.

The good news is that Rob seems to be doing MUCH better these days. He's been living with Khloe Kardashian, who has been extremely supportive of him, and he's been getting his fitness grind on. In addition to hiking with Kim Kardashian, Rob has been doing his own morning workouts, one of which he bumped into Kylie Jenner and Tyga on, sharing this paparazzi-style photo of them, which he later deleted.

We're so encouraged that Rob seems to be on his way back to his old self. We really miss seeing him out and about and we miss his presence on the show.

Forget Miley Cyrus' own nipples, she's obsessed with Kim Kardashian's boobies. After hosting the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards, Miley talked up Kim's baby-suckers, and let's just say...she's a bit obsessed.

"Kanye West and I have one thing in common. We both love Kim Kardashian. I mean, have you seen those nipples?" Miley said during the insane MTV VMAs on August 30 after Kanye went all Kanye on us with his Video Vanguard award rant.
That wasn't all. She went on to make sucking movements with her mouth, pretty much saying she wants Kim to breastfeed her. Ohhh, Miley.

Nipple-exposure was the fashion statement of the night. Of course, a very pregnant Kim had nipples on point, and showing through her dress. Selena Gomez went the same route.

Miley straight up flashed hers while hosting the show. She was speaking from behind a curtain while making a costume change, and apparently she didn't realize (or did she?) that her tata was hanging out.
